I diffused for the first time!

First time diffuser here :D I usually air dry.

I need more practise, though. I don't have that much volume, and more frizz than I'd like. It's not fully dry though, to be fair.

Results;

A bit more curl at the roots;

Random perfect curl. Why can't they all be like this?!

I'll add more pics when it's finished, and perhaps a comparison pic from air dry vs diffused and air dry.

BSL stretched (longest it's ever been and growing rapidly!), past shoulder curly. Hair goal is hip length.

3a-b/f-m/ii. Soft and silky texture and prone to tangles. Can't get second day hair, even if I kissed the feet of fairy's :neutral:

    Fully dry. Not a huge fan of the results :/ going to try it without get and perhaps stop diffusing earlier?

    (Top is diffused, bottom air dried. Prefer the bottom).

    Another option to try is in the diffusing technique itself. If you cupped your hair in the diffuser and held it in place doing sections at a time, try keeping the diffuser from touching your hair at all. And vice versa. Oh, a hot sock instead of a diffuser might be an option as well.

    I hope you can work it out - I hate letting my hair air dry especially in winter and would be so frustrated it if I hadn't been able to find a diffusing technique that worked.
    remember, with all advice or suggestions for your hair, YMMV!! :read2:
    My hair:
    2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
    My routine:
    Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
    RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
    LI: KCKT or CJSL
    Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)

    Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.

    Do you think that'll help better then? I found the scrunching in the cup defined my curls better, but maybe it was the heat? My hair always dries out with hair dryers :/ I thought the diffuser would help, but maybe not?

    I put a hot sock in my wishlist :)

    Thanks for the reply!

    I just know that cupping my hair works for me while using it away from my hair to just blow on it does not work at all, resulting in looser curls and frizz...yet another regular poster here (I can't remember who) has said the exact opposite is true for her hair. For her, touching her hair with the diffuser at all will create horrible frizz so she just uses it to blow dry from a few inches away without touching it.

    I also use low heat and low fan speed, and after the second section I usually have to use my cool shot button off and on because it's running hotter by then.

    Ah, okay, thank you! I will play around with it!
