Introducing Myself (:

pinkcurlypinkcurly Posts: 9Registered Users
Hello everyone, my name is Denise.

I decided to join because I really dont know how to manage my curly hair.

I have dyed, bleached and over straighten my hair. I dont want to do that stuff anymore.
I've learned to love my curls but my curls dont love me right now lol.

I think i should just shave my head and buy some hairfinity vitamins to grow my hair.. I've heard some great things about it. What should i do? And what type of curls do i have?

I usually have little spirals.

    Welcome!! :)

You look like a 3B to me. Here you can find out more about your texture: Curly Hair Tips, Styles & Products - NaturallyCurly

Maybe shaving your head is a little too drastic? You've never relaxed your hair, right? Then maybe a chop will be sufficient... of course, if you want to shave your head and start all over, then by all means do so :)

Hi pinky, looks like you have 3b curls to me. What products do you currently use? Do you use sulfates and/or silicones? Im also guilty of many years of bleaching, flat ironing, etc.etc. I started taking care of my curls 4 months ago and now, even though I still flat iron about once a month ( I like seeing how long my hair had gotten when it's straight!) my hair has become so healthy....and it has grown so much in this short time!
You should probably start by finding our your hair properties (porosity, density, etc.) then see what products other curlies with similar hair properties are using. Its alot of trial and error before you figure out the best ones for you but your hair will love you for it!

Yea ive relaxed my hair a lot before. Maybe 4-5 times in my life o.0

So does this mean i should chop it off? Go Amber Cole for a while (:

Hmm, the curl pattern will probably change once you start taking care of the curls. For me, I swear, I went from wavy, stringy, frizz to spirals and pretty much no frizz. The curls seem to be alot tighter in the back and wavier/ looser in front....and I'm sure its due to all the prior damage I've done. Looks like 3b to me from the picture above but it could be 3a if its looser in back.
