... But now you know better.

I used to think girls who worked at the makeup counters at Macy's had the coolest job ever.

The only job I ever wanted when I was a child was to be a mother.

    Yeah...not so glamorous...

I though Magnum P.I. was pretty pimp. Real job? Not so pimp and lots of boring.

Rambo was pretty pimp, too. I can't mumble enough to actually be Rambo, certainly don't have the accent. And a soldier is something that I greatly respect but could never do. And it's really not glamorous.

There were a couple of small and rinky dink theme parks in my area. They were mainly had shows, and carnival rides. One had an Old West theme and I wanted to be a cancan dancer in the saloon show. I thought that would be the most amazing job ever! Little did I know it paid crap, and was anything but glamorous.

Secretary. I remember telling my parents I wanted to be one and they yelled at me, pretty badly.

^^That's kinda mean of your parents. :(

My glamour job as a child was a teacher.

As a teen it was either a journalist or working in book publishing.

I always thought that I'd only "arrive" once I became a waitress. Or, a receptionist, or a cashier.

I was a receptionist for quite some time, and it was not all it cracked up to be. I'm not a waitress, but I'm close enough to it, and I'm pretty sure I'd hate being one!

However, I tried out cashiering during training at work, and it was THE GREATEST THING EVER! I always find myself wistfully staring at the cashiers at work, like "omg, I wish I was you..." I think I'm the first and last person to do that.

I remember telling someone in kindergarden I wanted to be a farmer and they looked at me funny. In my mind, it would be a very cute farm filled with cuddly animals to play with.

The girl who rang up our humongo sale at Toys R Us this weekend mentioned how she loved going to the Children's Museum as a kid and play on the cash register and now she got to do it all the time! Which was awesome for us because we had 6 carts! It was our annual Toys 4 Tots run.

I wanted to be a school bus driver. I couldn't wait to drive when I was a kid. I used to pretend the grocery cart was the nose of a bus and I was driving it around the store. My first grade classroom had a parents day and they asked all the kids what they wanted to be. I was SO excited to say 'a school bus driver!!' and when I did I thought my mom was going to fall off her seat. My teacher laughed. I was embarrassed :(
