I think it works great for some people. Not me. My hair is extremely dense. I need to lightly finger detangle every day and do a thorough comb job once a week to remove shed hair. That kind of ps like you have makes my hair tangle with shed hair. I end up having to cut knots out when I take it down.

Glad to see you like it.

I detangle and retwist my hair every week, but wash and deep condition (overnight) every other week so it works out. Those twist in last pic ill leave in for 3 weeks though.

looks like its really working for you. i have wanted to do this for so long, though i dont have the time to spend 2 hours a day braiding my hair. so instead, due to the colder weather ive been bunning my hair every day. i change the position of the bun to mix it up a bit. i also use quiet a bit of oil to seal and help protect my hair from the weather. i think its been helping me. though you do show same great progress with your twist outs.

my hair: 3b, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
Oils and my own procuts are my hairs best friend
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.

I would like to join that challenge as well. I am already wearing braids. My hair isn't as long as any of yours but I want to get it as long as it can get. In fact I am supposed to start Hairfinity to assist.

I'll definitely join as well. I only straighten my hair twice a yr and just did so last month so I won't be straightening again until the end of May. I'm at full APL when straight so I'm hoping to be at BSL by June/July. I mainly protective style anyway 100% of the time but I've been experimenting with color a lot lately and with the recent straightening job have gotten out of my weekly DT regimen so I plan on getting back to my regular healthy hair care activities.

I have a pretty simple routine that I alternate every week during the month.
Week 1: DT overnight, co-wash & acv rinse
Week 2: DT overnight, wash, condition
Week 3: DT overnight, co-wash & acv rinse
Week 4: PT, wash, DT under hooded dryer

Then I style into a bun or bantu knots (most recently I wet bun since the summer time and it stays that way until I take it down to DT and wash for the next week). I like to keep things simple! I look forward to growing with you ladies and gentlemen if any join us and seeing everyone's progress!
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Hair Type: A head full of THICK, normal porosity curls/coils that I am TOTALLY in LUV with!

so im stalking the nice pics on this thread and thought id add a thought of my own. i made a really nice style today, it was protective style and i wouldnt mind seeing how long i can do it for.
its like a braid in the back of the middle of my head, then i wrapp the braid around its self, and pin it with bobby pins. i could also pin it different ways. i really liked it. will be doing it again tomorrow.

So I was two inches away from making the bra strap challenge (straightened) and went to the Dominican salon to get it straightened out, and after she straightened my hair she cut (without my permission) 6 inches off! I was hot because I know I did not have 6 inches of dead ends.

So I had to go to my normal hair dresser and have her fix it because the lady said all of it had to be cut off. Wth?! Why did I go there in the first place? Ugh!!! Stick with what I know for now on.
