Using the "cool & seal" method with my dc

Finding SM curl milk at Target for $4.98

Trader Joe's nourish spa & ttt conditioner as LI/RO/cowash

Sealing with baby oil. On day 3 and still feeling moisturized.

    Hit & miss:
lll Sisters of Nature nourishing treatment dc. Soft and fluffy hair but no slip, adding oils helped some. It turned into paste on my hair when used with HE HIS, TJ nourish spa & TN for the "cool & seal" method.

Hit: Shea moisture African black soap purification mask. This just glides through my hair. It's great as a DT and LI. Softens my hair and gives me the most defined WnG I've ever had. Love it and I'm mad it took me so long to get it!

Miss: sealing. Idk, I just can't seem to do this right. I only recently started actually trying, but I've noticed no difference in my moisture retention...
Mostly fine hair, coarse around my edges and nape.
Definitely high porosity and insanely dense.
Not so sure on the elasticity, but I don't think I have a very good moisture/protein balance and my hair is ubber dry, so I'm going to go with low... of course I could be very wrong.

    Regimen:
    Cowash/RO: HEHH, AIA Coconut Cowash
    PT: Ion Effective Care Treatment
    DT: Any condish with EVOO+Honey
LI: SM CES or PM The conditioner
Styler: EcoStyler Olive Oil, KCCC, or Let's Jam

Hit: hairveda red tea moisturizer. I use it as a leave in and moisturizer and it leaves my hair so soft. I also can use pretty much any product in conjunction with it.

Maybe miss: silk dreams wheat germ butter conditioner as a leave in. Made my hair a little dry. I may just use this as a conditioner and see.

hit: shea moisture african black soap. real african black soap (from africa) burns my face. thankfully, their version doesn't. it pulls my face a little tight (temporarily) but doesn't burn.

constant hit: straight aloe vera spritz
LOIS (OS); cottony, TYPE 4 hair, fine/med strands; no cones bcz my hair hates them; last relaxer '98; now low porosity:?, ignores most natural hair rules; BC #8

faves: suave, v05 shampoo, conditioner (my own), raw shea butter, castor oil, peanut oil, aloe juice

Oh wow, the African Black Soap Purification masque can be used as a leave-in? Even with the clay in it?
    Products in current rotation:

Terressentials Pure Earth Mud Wash; Elucence MBC (now really just for cowashing, leg shaving or emergencies); Curl Junkie: Repair Me, Deep Fix, Curl Rehab; AOHSR (retiring); Oyin Handmade: Honey Hemp, Hair Dew, J&B; Qhemet Biologics: BRBC (retiring- prefer Oyin HD), AOHC, OHHB; Jojoba Oil for scalp; Castor Oil or Shea butter to seal; Henna & Ayurvedic pastes when I can be bothered.

Still searching for the perfect stylers, but loving CJ CIAB over everything so far

Wow. Super brain fart. I actually had no clue it had clay in it. Well I haven't have any ill affects from using it as a LI. But I probably won't be doing it anymore. =\ shame too it works really well wit my gel for shiny super defined curls... Oh well. I just got the oyin hair dew, so I hope it can give similar results. =)

Hit: I am really loving Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-In. Been using it as a leave-in, detangler, and a styler. The only product I've been using for 2 weeks now.

Miss: Running low on products but on a no-buy until Feb. Can I make it?:pale:

Hit: Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee! When a little time passes and it solidifies it is bomb!

Misses: Curl junkie Curl Rehab as a leave in, different strikes for different folks I guess. I really thought I would love it for that purpose based on reviews. Well now it will have to prove itself as a deep conditioner...and its competition is fierce, its cousin Deep Fix ain't no joke.

Super MISS: Shea Moisture Organic Yucca & Baobab Anti-Breakage Masque My hair was so dry and tangled after using this, it took several deep conditioning treatments with my heat therapy wrap and steaming just to get my hair back to normal. I have some other stuff from this line that I've never used... seriously doubt I will even try.

Disappointed since I really like the Coconut & Hibiscus line.

    Super miss:
Miss Jessie's Creme de la creme conditioner. I tried to use it as a leave-in. No slip and it made my hair frizzy and hard. I had to re-wash my hair. Got it in the BOGO. Bad choice.

Miss: Devacare One Condition: the scent is awful and leaves my hair smelling like an artificial orange plantage *yuck* , it isn't slippy at all and i feel like the more i use the dryer and frizzier my hair gets. :(

Yea it's like the Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus is the only good thing from the line so far. That yucca mask was patchy and wack, maybe if you mix it with something that has more of a spreading slippy effect if that makes sense would be better.

Another major hit: Shescentit Moisture Rich mask.
This thing literally melts in your hair as soon as you apply it. Works very similar as curl junkie rehab but even better. The latter was a staple for me. I think after some further experimenting I might stick with shescentit. The prices are lower, better sales and the products work the same...if not better.

Thank you! I have been eyeing the shescentit for some time now ever since I heard about the avocado conditioner. I have to finish the stuff I have, and then I may move to shescentit.

This is about to be long... sorry!

SUPER DUPER MISS: So i'm traumatized ya'll. I decided to blow my hair out so that I could get this cute cornrow style. After fully detangling I blow dried with the comb attachment using the widest one (Andis Ionic Styler Dryer) it left my hair so tangled. ( I used a little coconut oil and grapeseed oil as my heat protectant, I also had oyin honeyhemp as my leave in) ...... HOT MESS!

So then moving on to the braids, it came out super cute but my scalp was like ""**** you done lost your mind!!!" ... The whole time it was in I used a conditioning spray and sealer (oyin juices and berries or shea radiance) and then I also used hair dew and oiled my scalp using my mix or QB Amla pomade. So after two weeks I took them out so much hair came out, breakage you name it, I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

My hair was soft and pretty detangled after taking the braids down, I pre-pooed with Shea Moisture Raw SheaButter Deep Treatment mask..(while doing this my hair immediately began to curl, so no signs of heat damage). then shampooed with BoBeam (J'rels Orange Cream Bar, & Vashti Bar) then did a protein treatment with Curl Junkie's repair me with a little Curl Fix on top... baggying with that for a bit, I rinsed and my hair feels stronger, less fragile but a bit dry so I'm currently deep conditioning using KBB Luscious Locks Hair Mask.... ""LE SIGH" ...

I think I'm going to do small two strand twist and trim the ends (I have SSKs galore now :( ) ....

My scalp is tender (especially in the crown area), I have a million SSKs, and my hair is not my own.... I would sit down and pout/cry if it weren't for chocolate and wine! ...

Sorry it's so long I had to get that out!! :) xoxo

Another unexpected hit: Jessicurl Weekly Deep Treatment because I finally squeezed enough out of the bottle. These companies really need to stop selling these thick cocoa butter based creams in bottles, they belong in jars. This is the second product I believed under performed at first simply because I didn't use enough on application. Why? because I literally have to manhandle and karate kick the bottle to get enough product out. *end rant* On the whole I liked the Jessicurl this time and will probably repurchase in the gallon size once I have the funds.

I hear you with that. I love Darcy's pumpkin seed conditioner and don't purchase it as often because of that reason. Is a struggle to get it out of the bottle. To top it off, she puts a pump on it! Is she crazy?!
