Prayers Needed For A Long Lost Curly...

jenny curljenny curl Posts: 1,814Registered Users
Hello my curly friends...

It has been some time since I visited. I apologize. A little thing called "life" started getting crazy... I'm sure you can relate. Working full time, going to graduate school, starting an internship... Ahh, the bliss! But, I hope you have all been well.

Anyway... On a more serious note, my grandmother has been battling colon cancer for a few years now. She was doing alright for awhile, living in her home with my grandpa and going to weekly treatments... But a few weeks ago, the cancer seemed to get the best of her. She's now in the hospital and is so medicated that she is just sleeping... she was awake up until Friday, but now she so sedated that she cannot wake up or speak anymore. I have been fortunate to have all 4 of my grandparents up until now, and so this is very difficult for my family and I. The doctors stopped giving her fluids because her organs are shutting down, so she will be passing away any day now. It is the saddest thing in the world to watch, even more so that Thanksgiving is coming up next week.

I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers as my family endures such a difficult time in our lives. You have all been so wonderful!

Jen

I'm very sorry, Jen. It's particularly hard around the holidays, I understand. I hope your grandmother is not in any pain.

Sending you and your family good thoughts.

Take care of yourself and post again whenever you feel up to it.

I haven't met you yet, Jenny Curl, but I am sad for you - I know what you are going through....with me, it was watching my mother waste away. So I send you extra special prayers and light...for you, and your family, and for your poor dear grandmother... :( Please try to focus on her release from pain, and I hope her ending is easy...wow, just none of that is easy to say. I'm sorry. My sympathies to you and to yours.

    Thank you all so much.

After 5 years of fighting, she passed away peacefully at 6:30am this morning. I am very sad, and will miss her dearly... She was the rock of our family. I will miss her cooking, and our family celebrations. She was an amazing woman... Rest her soul.

    Love to you all.

(((hugs))) Jenny. I have found writing to be very cathartic over the last few days.
    May she sleep peacefully

Jen, somehow I missed your thread. I'm so very sorry for your loss. (((HUGS)))

Thank you everyone. Things are going to be different this Christmas, but we are trying to get through it together! I hope to be coming around here more, if I can break away from all the stress!
