For a long time (like age 11 to 20) I had the worst acne, or at least it was for me. I jumped between different brands. Now I use Neutrogena and I HIGHLY reccommend it! I finally have clear skin with the occassional pimple....and thats a lot better than how my skin was before. My skin also glows from the exfoliant I use....but let me start at the beginning :)....

    FACE AND NECK
I repeat my routine twice daily.

First, I rinse with water (wakes me up in the AM, feels good at night), then I pump some Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash into my hand, and I mix it with a scrub usually(very mild, very fine so I can use it daily if I want....I usually skip a day though). I was using Neutrogena Deep Clean Daily Scrub (it smells great....like citrus), but I switched to the Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub (no real reason, just wanted to try something new...and it works great!); it smells kinda peachy. I mix these in my hands then apply it to my face and let it sit for a minute. Then I rinse (make sure you dont get that grainy scrub in your eyes....that really sucks) and pat dry with a regular hand towel.

Finally I apply some Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-Controlling Astringent.

    BODY

At least once a day :P. Twice, 3x if i have multiple workouts (nah not 3, j/k)

So, I'm in the shower....I usually use bar soap: tried the body washes before but none of them really felt like they were cleaning me. If anything they smell good and moisturize. Anyway, I use Dove for sensitive skin...although recently I tried the Dove soap that has the scrubbing beads in it....it feels kinda too rough. I've also tried a Neutrogena Deep Clean Body Bar, and it works ok.

I like to use body scrubs right after my workouts, so I use Neutrogena (see I told you, Neutrogena everything :) but it works so well!) Body Scrub. I forget the full name, but it's orange and kinda cloudy looking. It prevents acne breakouts on the rest of your body really well. I apply it to my back and shoulders and chest.

Every other day I use one of those sugar scrubs for my legs, feet, knees, and elbows (I tried the salt ones, but theyre too harsh for me); I forget what its called but I got it from Wal-Mart in the Bath section (like where the bath beads and all that are). I'll let you guys know later. I always exfoliate after lathering up with my bar soap....

Oh yeah. I use Freeman's Ultra Thick Ultra Rich Body Butters for body lotion and it has to be THE BEST lotion I've ever had! It's so smooth and creamy and it smells WONDERFUL. I have Smootherapy (with a peachy smell) and Peace of Heaven Sunflower and Vanilla Sugar (smells like very yummy cocoa butter and vanilla). Both are great. I use it on my feet mostly, but occassionally if I'm feeling dry I apply it to my arms and legs (ALWAYS hands!). Speaking of feet, I spray some Heel to Toe Tea Tree Deodorizing Antibacterial Spray on my feet before I lotion them up...I love this too. My feet need moisture! Plus it cuts down on the big stink (feet closed up all day in shoes....where are my JCrew flippies!) :)

    SHAVING/HAIR REMOVAL
I use Skintimate shaving gel and a Venus razor. Thinking of switching though to a men's electric razor or something (closer shave, no knicks I HOPE). I don't like the feel of a razor under my armpit....

    Finally MASKS

I use a Neutrogena Deep Clean Clay Mask occassionally, like just whenever I notice my face is oilier than usual. I also got this Pumpkin mask from Bath and Bodyworks.....smells exactly like pumpkin pie, I swear. If it was edible, I'd eat it. It smells that good!!! :P Actually, I saw this featured on Oprah's favorite things show yesterday....I felt all smug cause I already had it :P. It makes your skin feel really smooth. I use it just whenever I'm in the mood. I'm not really big on masks, but occassionally if I'm in the mood, why not :)....Bath and Bodyworks always has some cool stuff....

And this is starting to sound like a commercial so I'm gonna end it (besides, I'm done anyway). :D

My skin's been too chaotic in recent years for a description, but I do adore a good mask. Lately, I'm loving DDF's Sulpher mask.

Cleanser: moisturizing shampoo, lately Jessicurl Gentle Lather

I am battling with acne at the moment. Mostly I have these little bumps under my skin that if I pop have a hard white inside. I used acutane 7 years ago which kept me clear for some time, but had to go to the derm about 2 weeks ago. She put me on tazorac. I found these 2 sites helpful:

    /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Facne.org%2Fmessageboard%2F" class="Popup
    /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.healthboards.com%2Fboards%2Fforumdisplay.php%3Ff%3D5" class="Popup

    Anyway here is my routine

    AM:
    wash with warm water
Tone with apple cider vinager mixed with water (4 part water to 1 part vin)
    Paula's Choice BHA 1%
    BP if needed
moistuizer then Sunscreen (sample from derm)
Right now my moisturizer has copper peptide (can't remember the name of it)

    PM
    Wash with purpose gentile cleanser
tone with home made vinager mixture mentioned above
    Paula's choice BHA 1%
wait a few hours then Tazorac

So far so good. Still hoping to rid myself of the bumps, and with all the exfoliating from thes products should do it. The good news is I have no new ones popping up :)
    3A fine thick
    Devacon No Poo
    Devacon One Conditioner with honey
Rusk Being Gutsy and ISO Multi Texture Cream

Do any of you have dry skin? I got a facial a few months ago and she told me the opposite of what the first lady told me...but it made more sense. I have dry skin (I am not sure how the 1st lady thought it was oily) and I need to use a cream cleanser. Only thing is, I don't know of ANY good cream cleansers. Any ideas?

Also, I am in the market for a good face cream with spf, but it can't be highly scented .Those lotions (for the face) that are too scented make me queasy. Any ideas?

i love the nivea cream cleanser that i use. it has little exfoliating/moisturizing beads in it. nivea makes three kinds of cleansers, one for dry skin, one for oily, and one for combo skin :)
you might want to give it a try naturalT

I'm another one who thought she had oily skin until finally realising that my skin was actually on the dry side and fairly sensitive. I've been using Neutrogena Extra Gentle lotion cleanser to take makeup off at night and Cetaphil cleanser in the morning and my skin is balanced, clear and soft. I use Olay Complete moisturiser with SPF 15 during the day and Paula's Choice Hydrating cream at night. I highly recommend all of these.

The Curlyfitness people sent me some samples of their hair and skincare line, Syence, to try. I really like the skin stuff. There's a Proteolytic Moisture Complex that my winter-dry skin just loves. There's also a Super Hydrating Emulsion that I like. (And I swear I'm not just saying this cuz NC gets like 3 cents if you buy the stuff! It really hydrates.)

I've used Clinique Dramatically Different for a hundred years, but like this new stuff a lot.

naturalt have you tried Cetaphil cream cleanser? I used it when I was on Retin A and it actually cleaned my face. I never felt clean with any other non-sudsy cleanser. Not to mention that it is cheap and easy to find.

My regimen right now is Day: Aveda Cleanser, Anew Skin Priming Lotion, Neutrogena Wrinkle and Blemish Cream, L'Oreal Eye Cream and Lancome Soleil SPF 40.

Night: Jojoba Oil to remove the make up, Aveda Cleanser, Eucerin toner to get rid of the last of the Jojoba residue, Anew Skin Priming Lotion, Clinique Repairwear Night Cream (for now, I have a sample) and L'Oreal Eye Cream.

One a week, I exfoliate with Queen Helene Mint Julep Scrub and apply Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask. Not on the same day of course!

I'm not really sure what Anew Skin Priming Lotion is for. I found it in my medicine cabinet recently and I thought I'd try it. It says you're supposed to use it before Anew Skin Care, so I use it before my non-Anew skin care stuff. I think I got it for free when I was ordering Avon mascara like a fiend last year.
Do you know why they call it "PMS"? Because "Mad Cow Disease" was taken.

I have battled acne, dry skin, and oily skin for years. (weird I know, oily head, dry everywhere else) But Aveeno has been my answer. It's not even considered an acne cleanser, but I love it. I use the Skin Brightening Facial Wash, followed by Positively Smooth Moisturizer (rids facial hair), and my face looks great! I have had only one pimple in 5 weeks. I didn't even breakout during the "time of the month." I will use Aveeno FOREVER!

Try Stila Sport skin visor sunscreen. It's spf 30, goes on super thin, is made for the face and absorbs quickly with no whitey nasty residue. I used while on vacation in miami (not like the sun was out anyway  ) and I loved it. I'm using it as my regular face cream and will start to use the rose cream at night. I figure it's about time I start taking care of my face.

Purchased at nordies. Dont remember the price

curlyincali- I have cetaphil in my shower right now. I use it, but I just don't think it gets my face clean enough :(.

MzShvy- I was just looking at that Aveeno stuff today, but I can't remember if it was a cream or not. It might be a good choice for my SO though.

That neutrogena stuff seems to have gotten lots of recs from you all.

I'll have to put all of your recommendations on a list and just see what comes up on sale....since I'm on a tight budget and all ;).

The wash I use isn't a cream, more of a slightly gritty gel. I usually prefer creams, but I LOVE this stuff. I have tried the Aveeno Foam Wash, and hated it. It did not feel like it was doing anything, and I broke out, so it must not have!

I was in Wal-Mart and when I'm in the bath and body section I always look for something cool/interesting. Anyway, I saw some Yardley's products, and there was a bottle of golden something.....Apothary Bee A Honey Body Wash. I just tried it last night.......it has a WONDERFUL smell, and once it gets really steamy in the shower the smell really carries....its got honeysuckle and honey extracts , both moisturizing.

It looks like a bottle of melted gold :P

I want to thank you for mentioning this. I have been using Eucerin Foaming Facial Wash and also a Eucerin Facial moisturizer for awhile now. I was EXCITED about it but it worked better than anything else.

I recently purchased the products you listed and my face feels GREAT and so FRESH. It's amazing. I was nervous abou the Facial wash because it was a scrub and I have very sensitive skin but it ended up not irritating me at all.

So far, I'm loving the combination.

    Thanks again for sharing!
