correct way to cowash..question.

I've been reading more on cowashing and there seems to be two different ways people are doing it.
I"m wanting opinions on what is the best/correct way.

One is to put some conditioner on your fingertips and rub your scalp for approx 2 minutes then rinse then put either the same cond or a heavier conditioner on the length of your hair and let it set while you do the rest of your shower stuff.

The other is to put conditioner on your scalp and the entire length of hair, scrub your scalp, let it sit while you finish your shower then rinse your scalp and either thats it or apply a heavier RO for a bit...this theory lets the conditioner sit on your scalp to "cleanse" longer i'm assuming...

I use Suave when i cowash btw.

which one seems to work better for everyone or any one have any opinions on which one NOT to follow?

    I do the 1st

I wouldn't let it sit on my scalp after I've scrubbed. I would be feeling the dirt is holding on to my hair and getting in again... idk. :p

    +1 more to the first.

I would be worried about encouraging oil/greasiness by leaving it to sit on the scalp for any length of time.
remember, with all advice or suggestions for your hair, YMMV!! :read2:
    My hair:
2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
    My routine:
Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
    RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
    LI: KCKT or CJSL
Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)

Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.

Well, I was doing #2 which might explain why i've had trouble with scalp build up....i'm switching to #1
    and see if that helps.

I do the first. The idea is that when you do this once you rinse the rest of the hair gets cleansed as the conditioner runs down the hair. :)
