Ehh.. I live in the bipolar, foggy area of California. Just more M&S and deep conditioning for me.

I live in Los Angeles. My routine doesn't switch much. Summer time I like conditioner only, CG, method and I butter my ends. Winter I aint got time to be playing in my hair much, so I switch to buttercreams instead of leaving my conditioner in and I butter my ends while in a bun. If I do twist outs in the winter I just use a buttercream and gel.

My wash routine is pretty much the same, only thing that changes are the leave ins, from light to heavy.

    Gotta Love Cali weather.

I live in Seattle, WA. My routine doesn't change much. I do PS in the fall and winter just because there is too much moisture in the air for a twistout. But in terms of what I do to my hair, nothing changes. I do the same thing and use the same products year round.

Same as before except my rare wash and gos will become non-existant wash and gos (had to cut off 2 inches after a week of WnGs last year). Also, I will spritz every evening if I've spent the day somewhere where there's electric heating. These types of heaters do more damage to my hair (and skin) than the weather outside.
My hair is in the 4s, low in porosity, high in density and coarse. :happy6:

Love: QB - all of it, Bobeam - shampoo bars, Darcy's Botanicals - Pumpkin Seed Conditioner, Coconut Cupuacu Pomade, KBN - Shealoe Leave-in, Oyin - Juices & Berries, Kinky Curly - Knot Today, Ayurvedic treatments, my Denman and the cloud of kinky goodness on my head that I get to play with! :love8:

Major climate changes here in the Chi....I gave up wngs back in September. Back to braid and twist outs but this year I'm playing more with buns and flat twist styles (yep, finally learned to flat twist) and I've pulled out and stepped up my hat game.

I've learned to love old man winter, I get a chance to play in my hair more unlike in the summer.

Teach me O Master! :crybaby:If I could get flat twists down, the way my whole hair regimen, my whole hair LIFE could change! I always get tempted again by the WnGs because I get bored of twists and mini braids (my hair is in the in-between stage so -outs don't look right).
*sigh* At least I can do a ponytail now if I stretch my hair for 2-3 days. That's an alternative option for winter! Yarn braids are too long to do, but I *might* do them again.

Just more moisturizing and sealing. I was thinking of covering with scarves, but I'm not sure if I will actually hide my hair away. :)

Just in the last couple of weeks, our air has gotten dry and it has been affecting my hair, so it's on to richer, heavier products. I may get a sewin or twists also, haven't decided yet, but I will before Christmas.

The thing is, I understand how easy it is. I get the concept totally. My hands just won't do it! It's the adding more hair bit that I struggle with mostly. Do I *have* to have long nails to pinch and grab new hair? :sad7: It feels like I need 3 hands.

ok since it seems like u got this down, how do u tame the hair from tangling while twisting? I love flat twist but the hair tangles so much and even breaks!

This is soooo me and initially I would have to stop, let go of the hair then section out the hair with my nails and regrab with the new hair...it looked ok it just wasn't tight looking. Once you get the motion you won't have to stop but initially I did have to stop and separate the hair.

I use a paddle brush to detangle then I smooth in an oil before twisting...that keeps the tangles down for me.

I have no issues the first time twisting but the days following it tangled bc the parts mix during take down and separation and i never re detangle i retwist as is.
