Makeup and moisturiser for thirty something

Hi everyone

I've been struggling with my skin since it changed from young skin and I started to look my age (32) I seem to either have to settle for very shiny skin, or very dry. If I use a good day cream/moisturiser I get a lot of shine, and if I use makeup it looks dry, which is aging. I have a fairly prominent chin, which the shine seems to exaggerate, and needless to say, matt finish makeup is a little aging.

Can anyone recommend a nice moisturiser and/or makeup for skin thats starting to lose a bit of its youth?

Thanks in advance

I went through the same thing when I hit about 30. I use sunscreen only for day (Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch) and a moisturizer for night. If I layer too many things on my face for day, I get oily.

For night I use Olay complete (the cream not the fluid).

Good luck - aging sucks!

Eucerin Q10 creme has been working really well for me. There's also a lotion with SPF which I haven't tried.

The creme is moisturizing, but not greasy. It hasn't made me break out at all so far (I've been using it for about a month). I don't think it really has any major anti-wrinkle effect, but I like it as a daily moisturizer (I apply AM and PM actually).

Olay Regenerist - it's light, absorbs quickly, you can get it on sale, and Consumer Reports found that it's the only moisturizer that actually does what it claims - even if the effect is only 10% improvement in your skin!

I am really liking the Ice Elements skincare line. You can go to or I buy it from HSN. If you can get it in a kit, the price is relatively reasonable, especially considering even Oil of Olay products at Wal-Mart now cost in the $25 range. Purchased separately, I can't afford the Ice elements. Finding a kit on is getting difficult. This stuff is very popular and sells out quickly.
