Leave in or regular conditioner?

To use as a leave in? Looking for something to weigh my hair down - I hate volume!! Am I better off buying something labeled as a leave in, or using regular conditioner? I plan to just put some gel over it, but want to avoid my hair expanding my mid day! Any brand/type suggestions? Thanks!!

I've used both. If you're looking for extra weight a regular conditioner would probably be your best option. Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture works well (it's also fabulously economical). You might want to do a search for one of the conditioner-only styling threads because I'm sure the ladies there will have lots more ideas.

Thanks! Will browse the other boards. I do like the Tresemme and like that you can get local!!

+1 to what Corrina said. I've also read that some like to use a deep conditioner as their leave in for this reason - CJ curl rehab is what comes to mind, but any DT would probably work.

ETA: GVP conditioning balm is another thick conditioner that is pretty economical that I've read some people like for conditioner only styling.
    2c/3a, botticelli/wavy/'swavy (huh?)
fine, dense, normal porosity/elasticity, dry climate
My favorite brands are Kinky Curly, As I am, Curly Kinks, Curl Junkie, and Darcy's Botanicals. Also love sealing with oils (loving argan oil right now) and styling with jelly products (KCCC is my current favorite). Mostly trying to keep it simple!

Thank you - before I even saw this reply, I just purchased another bottle of this. Never tried as a styler, but might now!!
