This confused me because at first I thought people weren't replying but then I realized the issue is that bold doesn't show up on my phone. Better to use asterick like Depressed Curls.

Actually the headline had me thinking you'd help me find a man. LOl

Hair care is done by things like coarse vs fine and porosity. To a lesser extent, numerical type plays a role. I use 'black' products. Are they not supposed to work on me because I'm White with type 3 hair? There are Black type 4s who use 'white' products. Being shunted into product based on race or ethnicity isn't going to necessarily give you the best hair care options.

ITA, your hair properties are what determines what is best for hair, not ethnicity. Which is why there is no such thing as "bi-racial hair".

    texture - medium/fine, porosity - low/normal, elasticity - normal
co-wash - NaturelleGrow Coconut Water or Marshmallow Root, Slippery Elm Bark & Blue Malva Cleansing Conditioners

DC - NG Mango & Coconut H2O or Chamomile/Brdck Root
Gel - SM souffle (winter), KCCC (summer) or CR Naturals Aloe Whipped Butter Gel (year round)
Sealers - Virgin Coconut Oil, Avocado butter, Aloe butter
Ayurvedic treatments - Jamila Henna, Sukesh, Aloe Vera Powder, Hibiscus Powder

I don't think anyone should base their product use on what is marketed towards their race. But I do believe that people of the same ethnic background have similar hair properties. Just being "white" is not even close to specific enough. It has to do with the actual DNA. I agree, a fully "white" 3B would not have the same exact properties as a different ethnicity 3B. That was my point.

Sure they can. There are Black 3b's with my hair properties.

ITA, your hair properties are what determines what is best for hair, not ethnicity. Which is why there is no such thing as "bi-racial hair".

That's fine. We agree to disagree.

To second this- there is a (caucasian) 2c wavy who has commented that she gets most of her best product suggestions on the 4a/4b forums, rather than on the 2s forum because many of the posters on the 2s forum have very different hair properties than she does.

Hair genes and color genes aren't on the same gene. Seriously. You're getting nowhere fast with that argument. Bi-racial hair isn't some Special Snowflake category of hair because it doesn't exist.

Go back at look at the OP's post. No mention of ethnicity. Why? Because it has nothing to do with your hair properties and choosing the correct products for your hair.

Ethnicity is not defined by the color of your skin or hair for that matter. It has to do with your entire genetic makeup & similar physical traits from humans in each region.

Biracial hair still goes by hair properties: porosity, thickness, density, etc. Are those determined by genes? Sure. They're also determined by things like whether you color your hair or not. I agree with RedCelticCurls – This ethinicity stuff is pretty pointless since there are other factors that demystify the whole deal.

    Sorry for the board guano.
