brazilian blowout want my curls back

DEEVSDEEVS Posts: 13Registered Users
I did a brazilian blowout 2 days ago and my fine but very curly 3b curls are non existent now. Has anyone had success reversing the treatment? If so, how long did it take?

I have just started doing research and am terrified that my curls will never return or worse my hair might start falling out. Any insight into what I can expect over the next few months would be appreciated!

I use QOD Max (original) and in my case by Brazilian Keratin treatment wears out by itself, but it does take time. The curls come back slowly, but they will come back to their natural state. I do not know if you color your hair but I was reading on a blog that hair color removes the bkt, that is why they suggest you color before the treatment or wait at least weeks after the treatment. I notice that if I apply hair color after I have done a bkt (waiting after those weeks) the curls start coming back. I assume is because some of the treatment has been removed.

I would suggest to limit the flat iron, most of the time the hair loses its natural curl due to constant heat applied to it (even curls that never been treated with bkt can be damaged due to constant flat ironing)

In the beginning, a treatment on me lasted about 3 months in full bloom, then I start noticing the reversing. But because I am so loyal to it and have been redoing my treatment, now it last longer (I think it has a cumulative effect) Since I ran out of product, my treatment is already worn out from my hair and I am back to the same frizz ball I am naturally. (I just ordered a new bottle :love4: )

I would suggest you enjoy your treatment. Do not attempt solutions to remove the bkt that will damage your hair permanently.

Enjoy this new you! Play with your hair! It is way to early to panic and determine if you lost your curls permanently.

You will notice that as time goes, an as you wash your hair, the hair will start creating waves and curls. The first weeks within the treatment my hair gets very relaxed waves, almost fully straight. Weeks within the treatment my hair get these gorgeous curls that are so bouncy! Perfect for a wash and go!

    Good luck!

Thanks. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens, but it helps to hear a story of someone with good results. Here's to patience!

I always tell people don't get a keratin treatment or blowout if you want your curls because the results are so unpredictable. If you did the regular Brazilian Blowout instead of the Zero formula just expect straight hair until you cut it.

That treatment had about 6% formaldehyde which will really straighten your hair. I used one that was 4% and my hair got bone straight. I am transitioning now...

Thanks Cupcake, I got the BB zero. after a few clarifying shampoos, I have some wave, not stick straight but no where near my normal curl. I plan to use no heat, continue to shampoo and start taking hair growth vitamins. I have a sinking feeling its going to be a long few years ahead of me :(

I think with the zero formula your curls will come back. Try a clarifying shampoo and leave it in awhile. The ocean is great too...and def no flatirons. :)
