Hi everyone :sunny:

I have 3a hair and have embraced my curls 4 months back! loving it! I don't generally use many products, decent amount of conditioner and oil does the trick. Oh, and I use Dove repair shampoo and conditioner (its done wonders to my hair, I think). Ok so my main problem is that I'll be travelling overseas (North India) in a month, and last time I was there with straight here, and even that got frizzy! Any suggestions on what may work on my here there?

Also, I am interested in the CG method, just not sure how and what product to start with. Live in NZ and it ain't the best place to get products. I'm not too keep on online shopping either :confused1:

You are so lucky that you don't usually have to use many products to get good curls. I think in very high dewpoints, like where you will be going, you will need a strong gel. You might try KCCC or one of the strong drugstore gels.

The best way to go CG is to read up on it first. Basically, it means using products that don't contain silicone because silicone needs to be removed with a sulfate shampoo which tends to be drying. So if your styling and conditioning products contain anything ending in the letters cone, or zane, like dimethicone, you can't use them and go CG.

You would first have to wash your hair with a product that DOES contain sulfate to remove any buildup and then switch to nonsilicone styling and conditioning products. After that when you shampoo, use a poo that doesn't contain sulfate or just use conditioner to shampoo. There's more to the method than this and I'm afraid I'm making it sound more complicated than it is. Best to read up on it on this website.

I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....
