Do any other 3bs have that problem? Hair not holding a style? Maybe i just have too much. Clips, bobby pins, nothing can hold all of it up in a protective style.
Aww thank you but YOURS, goodness. I just want mine to BSL. But it won't seem to go past a couple inches below my shoulder. I thought it was cause i always had it down. I have no idea. It never looks good or wants to act right unless i have it down! Or maybe I'm doing something wrong. Idk. As i kid, my hair was BSL curly but then i started cutting it and it went down hill from there. I guess I'm just frustrated.
My hair will only hold an updo if I do it on damp hair. I started binning for the fall/winter today. Styled my hair with a little less product than usual, dried it to 75% then put it in a side bun and it should stay for days.

:love4:Loving my hair!!!:love4:
I don't have any advice or suggestions, but I just wanted to say that your hair I gorgeous - if my hair looked like that I would never wear it up. Way to awesome to try and constrain!
ETA: okay, maybe one question/suggestion. If you are looking for a protective style to help with growth, have you tried braids or twists? Not really an updo, but might help limit breakage if the goal is to grow your hair out.
2c/3a, botticelli/wavy/'swavy (huh?)
fine, dense, normal porosity/elasticity, dry climate
My favorite brands are Kinky Curly, As I am, Curly Kinks, Curl Junkie, and Darcy's Botanicals. Also love sealing with oils (loving argan oil right now) and styling with jelly products (KCCC is my current favorite). Mostly trying to keep it simple!
Have you tried a wooden hair fork, or hair sticks?
I have tried it all - clips, claws, octopus clips, bobby pins, hair elastics, scrunchies, GHD pins, bunhead pins - none of them will hold a bun on me, but a wooden hair fork or a pair of non-plastic hair sticks hold a bun up for me all day with no slipping or moving.

Besides. I didn't grow my curls long so that I could hide them in a bun.
My hair is wild and I like it that way
