Essex lion spotting was in fact... a cat

Apparently.

Not so sure I believe that blurry photograph is the cat they say it is, but neither does it look like a lion lol! Because lions don't have ears like that and it lacks a mane...

I've been finding the whole story rather amusing as it unfolds :D

Maybe Teddy Bear's mama was stalking through the grasses and mistaken for a lion?

HOW did anyone think that was a lion? I mean, I know Britain is far from the Rift Valley, Savanna Grasslands and all that, but DAMN. That is a CAT. Have they never seen lions before? That's not even a HUGE cat.

Very cute cat indeed, Teddy Bear is.

He is pretty big for a domestic cat, but yeah, he's not lion sized.

That cat is the same breed as Teddy Bear. TB could be that size if he wasn't such a good exerciser.

Uh, EXCUSE me. Female lions don't have manes. It could still be a lion.
  • kat180kat180 Registered Users Posts: 6,280 Curl Novice
Yeah but they are a lot bigger lol and they still don't have pointed ears on top of their heads!

I'm no expert but if there was somehow a roam lion in Essex, wouldn't there be evidence of it?

Good God, I'm going to have nightmares about that giant bunny.

When I was a small girl, I saw this movie, Night of the Lepus. It was about mutated rabbits that went crazy and attacked livestock and people's homes. I swear, I have had nightmares about giant bunnies for years now, but I had no idea they actually existed. Yikes!

Giant bunnies will eat you out of house and home. And create MOUNTAINS of poop. Bunnies in general are poop-machines, but the big ones are almost unspeakable...
