I have typical teenage skin and I was wondering if anyone finds certain things helpful for spots, blackheads and oily skin? Thanks

There is no such thing as typical skin - we all have different things going on internally and externally that contribute to the condition of our skin. I am not saying that to be mean, but to tell you to pay close attention to your skin and health and not overlook what could be something important because you think it's what all teenagers (or middle-aged ladies, etc) go through.

Having said that, my middle aged, oily skin which is sometimes prone to acne finds oil cleansing helpful and blancing (once you find the right mixture (The Oil Cleansing Method - A simple, cleansing facial massage for clear skin!)) and african black soap (African Black Soap) have been very helpful to balance skin and clean out the pores (thus preventing blackheads) and my teenage nephew has benefitted greatly as well).

Sweetie, can you see a dermatologist? I'm all for natural measures but sometimes you need medical help.

S/he might prescribe a simple lotion or cream or even some sort of cleanser or tonic that would clear you up before it gets really bad.

The only other suggestion I can think of is to try to get enough sleep. Skin rejuvenates 3 times faster while you are asleep than when you are awake.

    Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....

My teens use cerave cleanser, bha lotion and benzoyl peroxide.

my skin finally cleared up after using cethaphil face wash and lotions. I'm allergic to most make ups and salacylic acid that's in most face washes. its just too harsh. I think the cerave is just as gentle and cheaper, i just have brand loyalty at this point.

Also, try washing your pillow case every few days. Your conditioner and styling products can rub off on it and then get all over your face as you sleep and not let your skin breath, depending on the products you use.

    Is your skin breaking out?

At teenage the skin is very sensitive and soft so using mild facial products and treatment can do wonders. I myself never retorted to chemical products at that age.
