Hair style for 50+ short & curly
Hi: Trying to find pics of hair styles for over 50 with short naturally curly 3b. I have a round kind of wide face and it seems no matter how its cut its always "wide". I need some height on top because of face being round. If I wear it off my face then my face looks even bigger. Any advice appreciated.
3b, fine textured, thin and normal to high porosity.

what i consider is my face shape and the condition of my hair. for my face, keeping my hair a bit below chin length seems to work well. i did wear it a little longer, like to my collarbone until i stopped coloring. stretched out my hair is almost shoulder length, but i never wear it straight.
take in all the factors. i THINK the thinking is that your hair should end either above or below the widest point of your face (that is what a stylist told me a long time ago, before i was cg he was my favorite stylist). ie, for your shape, maybe a short haircut, or something just below chin length, or longer if your hair is in good conditon and your face seems to do well with length.
3a, some 2c & 3b, medium texture, porosity normal, low elasticity :-(

Your curls are great. Do you let the whole head curl including the bang area? I have trouble with the bang or front area because it seems curlier than the rest of my hair, so I usually use curling iron on few pieces.
if you clip your bangs to where you want them to go when your hair is very wet, even if they are curlier, they will blend in with rest of your hair when dry.
sometimes i help mine over with a clip, sometimes not. i generally let my hair start to dry and see how it is going. sometimes i put one clip at the root, helping it stay off my face, other times at the ends, helping it sweep over, and 60% of the time i don't clip.

My face is long and I wish it was wider and rounder! From what I've read (since I looked on the internet for best hair styles for long face LOL), a round face looks cute with short pixie type hair. I can't do that - I look like a skull - but it might look very chic on you.
Also, consider getting something very edgy and punk - if you have a really good stylist. With a round wide face you might run the risk of looking too cute or childish - so I suggest something very sophisticated. HTH!
ETA: I don't think age matters - mostly, it's the shape of your face and the type of hair you have that determines the best looking styles for you.
Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....
