I officially started my transition 3 months ago, but I've been post relaxer since October. From October to december I would flat iron my hair. From December to May I kept my hair in sew-in with the front of my hair out so I would flat iron it. My hair has always been very thick, but the problem I am having now is when I shampoo for hair it's fine, but when it's time to condition my hair theres a HUGE problem. It's like I have to use the whole bottle for it to do anything to my hair. The products I use are Creme of Nature, I moisturize my hair daily with organic carrot oil, but because of the thickness of my hair I can go through the whole container within a week, idk what to do because my hair looks dry, but when I can touch it I feel the products. (carrot oil and organic grow stimulating oil). What am I doing wrong?!? Oh yeah and I also wash my hair and deep condition weekly, and treat my hair with protein every other week.

It sounds to me like all the flat-ironing etc. has left your hair very dry and craving for moisture. How long have you been flat-ironing etc. your hair for? Does it feel at all thinner than it used to?
There are a few things you can do for your hair-
1, If you do want to continue to use heated tools on your hair, it is ESSENTIAL that you use a decent heat-protectant on it.
    2. You could try going CG. This is a method where you don't use shampoo at all, or much less of it. However, it doesn't work for everyone. I would certainly try it for your hair though.

I have been flat ironing my hair for as long as I can remember, I do not flat iron my hair anymore and info not plan on putting anymore heat to my hair. My hair is super thick and it has never felt like it has thinned at all. I've had a short hair cut since 07 and each time I cut it my hair grows even thicker, so thinner hair is not a problem for me.

I recommend you change conditioners. From your description, you may need a detangling conditioner and moisturizers that are cream instead of oil. One of my favorite brands is BeeMine, only sold online as far as I know.

Your hair probably doesn't like what your using. You should try organic conditioner. I use Giovanni smooth as silk conditioner. Even when I had all permed hair it was impossible to comb. But ever sense I started using this one, my hair melts like butter. I can even finger detangle. This conditioner has great slip.

I transitioned my hair from flat ironing to becoming natural about 2 months ago. I have been using the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusin conditioner. It's new! I love the way it feels on my hair. It makes it soft and much easier to detangle while I'm in the shower!
