What's my hair type? Curls going aways as growing??! HELP

I have a picture of myself (profile picture). Basically when I have short layers and/or scrunch my hair I look like I have 3a hair, but now I have been trying to grow my hai out and its getting wavier as it grows. I don't use as many products in my hair (mousses, gels etc.), but I do hot oil treatments- maybe that's why it looks more weighed down than it used to be? It almost looks wavy now. Should I get my layers shorter again to make my hair look like it used to in the picture, or should I keep growing it?

I have the same hair type as you (3a) and often come across this problem!! When I decide to grow out my hair It usually ends up stringy/ wavy. I was somewhat successful when using a light amount of detangler and mousse.

Your hair looks so pretty as it's grown out, I think you should consider if you really want to cut it. I usually decide to cut my hair when my life gets hectic (less hassel!)

My vote is to keep growing it!

3a curls do tend to get stringier/wavier as they get longer, but if your hair is fine, then you may need protein. IAgirl has a protein treatment recipe in the protein-craving forum. Oh, and do whatever you think is best for your hair! If you think it looks better long, then keep it long; if it looks better with layers, then layer it! :) Good luck!

My hair has a mix of low/med/high porosity, and it's medium textured (some are still fine, though!)
