Cloudy/rancid coconut oil!! Any other uses?

I have an almost full jar of coconut oil that now smells off and is cloudy. I'm not sure how it got that way but are there any uses for it that wint make me sick?
Could I still use it for DCs that I RINSE out? It costs a lot and id hate to ditch it all.
Suggestions?

It's normal for it to be cloudy. However it should not smell rancid. Rancid oil doesn't make you sick, it just smells and tastes bad. If you don't mind the smell, keep using it. Anything you do with it will get that rancid smell/taste.

Otherwise I'd throw it out and keep the next one in the fridge if you don't use it that fast, or buy refined coconut oil which doesn't go rancid as fast.

I'm not sure if I'd keep it. It could have gotten rancid through oxidation and contain free radicals... Not sure if it does much damage if you just apply it to your hair, but I don't think its beneficial.
