Is it possible - cholesterol conditioners?

You all seem bougie on hair purchases (Please don't take offense to that.) so you probably don't use this stuff but does anyone know where I can find a cholesterol dt that does not contain mineral oil? Lustrasilk came out with a line of cholesterol dt's that only stuck around for a short time. I could find them in 3 stores around here then POOF! gone. Now the only 2 places I've been able to find them is MotorCityBeauty's ebay store and Sally's website. I'm not paying all that to ship. I settled with a Sally's knock-off of Queen Helene that does have mineral oil. I know with the economy there's reason to have it as a top ingredient in most beauty products now cheap or $ but I just can't do it as a dt. As a pomade or stretch cream, sure. I'm thinking of writing Lustrasilk. Anyone know what's the deal on that or give me a rec for a good cheap dt that comes in a large tub? Thanks.

Actually, I use cholesterol when I do henna gloss treatments...so just because we use bougie products doesn't mean we don't slum it occassionally with the cheap stuff too. I'm a equal opportunity project junkie.

Any who, I usually find the mineral oil free cholesterol at the asian beaty supply stores. I have like 3 tubs of the stuff so I haven't had to purchase any in a while so I don't know if there was a formula change since I pruchased my jars earlier this year. The ones I have are the shea butter formula from Lustrasilk.

Me too - I use the Lustrasilk shea butter formula and I buy in bulk so I have not purchased this year. I buy it at Sally Beauty or at the local BSS.

What exactly does cholesterol do for hair? Is it like hair mayonnaise?

The carrot was my favorite one though I liked the shea butter too. I've seen shea butter and olive oil on Sally's website though when I went to the local store, they didn't have them. I prefer to buy stuff locally but may order from there or ebay if I get desperate enough. I saw a Cantu line on Wal-mart's website and they have a similar dt in a tub that doesn't have mineral oil. I may try it since I was going to order some other from there anyway. NCC, there was an Indian store where I used to live that had a large black hair care selection but there are no such stores around here unfortunately. I feel like I live in a black hole sometimes - want to get back to the city eventually! Thanks everyone! :-)

I've never used hair mayonnaise but it's probably the same concept, a conditioner that's usually used as a dt. I'm like NCC, I use it for henna glosses. I loved Lustrasilk's b/c I go through a lot of it even though I usually do full henna treatments now. The henna dries my hair so I end up doing more dts.

What I also cannot find and what hooked me up to Motor City Beauty's ebay store is Hollywood Beauty oils. You all know what I'm talking about those little clear bottles of oils - carrot, tea tree, etc.? I like the olive oil one to use as my acid for henna. Just curious if people also noticed the sudden disappearance of these things.

I see the Hollywood Beauty oils all the time at CVS. I buy the Hollywood Beauty Olive Creme Hairdress from there, and the little bottles of olive oil is always next to it.

Y, that's where I used to buy mine, but haven't seen them there in a long time.

Not bougie, but cholesterol weighs my hair down so bad that it breaks off. It has no nutritional value to my hair unless I use it to coat my hair for swimming. It's protects it from chlorine. Otherwise, it doesn't nothing for my hair AT ALL.
