Moisturizer Suggestions

I can't seem to find a refresher to use on my loose dry hair after a few days when I need a moisture boost. I've given up on sprays for the most part.

I've tried:
Camille Rose Moisture Milk
Donna Marie Hair Whip (although I think this is more of a styler)
Komaza Shea Butter Lotion
Shea Moisture Leave-in (original)
Darcy's Botanical Pumpkin Leave-in
Oyin Hair Dew
CJ Smoothing Lotion

Everything leaves my hair sticky shrunken and yucky feeling. Creams in the jar are usually too thick and take forever to work in. The only thing that use to work was Qhemet's BRBC. I don't know why it doesn't work now. It just leaves my hair nasty and sticky. I'm even open to anyone's homemade moisturizers. It's been 100 plus here in MD and my hair has been even more thirsty.

Shea Moisture Curl and Style milk-been using this as a refresher on shrunken wngs and to moisturize at night. Leaves my hair soft, smooth, and it absorbs well, doesn't leave that overly "wet" feeling I usually get from a lot of other products when I moisturize.

I forgot about that. It didn't work either. It's weird. If I'm not using something on wet hair when I twist or braid I don't seem to get any moisture out of the product. Some of the products I mentioned before works really well when I'm doing a braid out on wet hair. My hair feels great but if I try to use the same thing to refresh...nothing :(

Darcys Botanicals Cocoa Bean Curl Creme

I initially bought it as a leave in until Elle said it absorbs nicely on dry hair, she was right. Its very light and It absorbs INSTANTLY and is not heavy at all. I would have never used it that way.

Another I like on dry hair is the Bask Silk and Honey Latte but I dilute that with water in my palms before applying it to my hurr

I like to refresh by spraying my spritz into my hand then running it over my hair. I can better control how much water gets on my hair. Then I add my product which for me is usually a little leave in. I dont like to refresh with products with a lot of oils because I will get greasy.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:

If you spray your hair with water first to open the cuticle, then apply the refresher, I recommend curl and style milk or curl enhancing smoothie both by shea moisture... then seal with an oil. Then twist braid or pineapple to preserve it over night. Lighter products are recommended for refreshing.

Looking at the responses maybe I do need to lightly spitz my hair with water first then apply a leave-in. Or try some things diluted.
