Need Advice/ Wasn't Sure where to post

Hiya. I've been doing a lot of research on natural hair. My mother thinks I'm obsessed with this site. I started out thinking I was a 3c. Turns out I'm a 4b. It leads me to some questions.

1) Can 4bs really do wash and go's? We don't really have curls. I don't anyway. When wet, my hair sort of sticks straight up in a zig zag pattern.

2) I really want to do fingercoils. Since my 4b hair is prone to stick up, will I need a thicker product to get it to lay down and twist?

3) My hair is also very soft and weak. Should I take the extreme route and do the 2 step Aphogee treatment?

Thoughts from more experienced (preferably 4's) would be preferred. And please don't say something generic like "It's your hair. Do whatever you want. I'm looking for advice and experience"

Thanks :)

    1) I dont see why not. You just have to have realistic expectations to what your hair can do.

    2) No advice, I've never done them.

    3) From what I understand that is a strong pt. I would start with something else and see how that goes.

I think whether a wash and go works for you depends on your individual hair and not a curl pattern. I think maybe the problem is some people get caught up on curl definition and want to spend hours raking gel through. There are 4bs who do wash and gos and 4as like myself that cant. Or i should say cant without tangling issues

I have never done finger coils but i would think the thickness or hold of the product would depend more on how long you want the style to last. Example, I do twists strictly for twist outs so I dont use the kinds products like I would if I were leaving twists in for two weeks. And make sure you have something moisturizing under your hold product.

My hair can become mushy. I personally will never use two step again. Too strong for me. Are your protein sensitive? I gave away my Elucesence bc Im somewhat protein sensitive and it takes my hair several dcs to recover. I find mild proteins in rinse outs to be enough and I dont have to dc after. If you use a real deal pt you should always dc after. I made that mistake. Not good.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:
