What should I do?

Has anybody with 3a/3b had their hair cut this short? My main question is -- was it easy to maintain? I desperately want my hair back to my natural color, without having to dye it. If I were to cut off all of the old highlights (which were covered with a darker color), it would pretty much be this short. What would you do? Cut it off or continue to grow? I really want to grow my hair out, but I want it to be healthy. If seriously considering going this short and starting all over. Please help!

The hair in the photo is beautiful... But then again, your recent pics (October) your hair is beautiful too. Perhaps you see the damage and color, but it looks healthy to me.

I say with your hair, you can't lose, no matter what you do. Can you get by with regular trims?

Shoot, I'm waiting for mine to get that long. *L* I personally like this cut. I also think this is a good length for easy care hair. Mine is easier to style when it's the length in this picture because it is long enough to complete its curl pattern, but not so long that it takes forever to style. FWIW.

At that length my hair was perfect spirals all over, and I really liked it! I let it grow out because I didn't have a stylist I trusted in college, and it took about 6 months to grow to all one length.

Well.. It's your hair, so I don't want to tell you what to do, but if it were me, I'd continue to let it grow. If I cut my hair that short, it would look exactly like that picture, and while I think it looks good on her, it's just not for me. Even when I was growing out a straightener, I couldn't bring myself to cut my hair off. I'm growing out highlights too, and I've just been getting semipermanent color to cover them up. I think if you're taking good care of your hair and get regular trimlettes you should be okay. If you're uncertain about getting your hair cut off, I wouldn't do it or at least think about it for awhile.

I agree that it's your hair and the only one who has to like it is you. So it's your decision.
Personally, the last time I cut my hair this short was way back in 6th grade and I will NEVER do it again. I had an afro with no defined curls, just frizz everywhere. Not a good look on me.

Cutting your hair this short is a big commitment. If you dont like it, it will take a long time to grow out.
I think you have to decide if you want to cut it like this because you like the style and think it would look good on you, or is it because you're tired of your hair and want a change?
If you like the style and think if would look good, i say go for it!
If it were me, i'd only be looking for a change and would wind up regretting it.
Good luck! Major hair decisions are always the toughest!! :D
