Another flight attendant pops off.

'Craziness' reigns aboard flight waiting to take off from LaGuardia Airport - CNN.com

I've flown quite a bit this year, and I tend to empathize with the flight attendant. Man, they take some serious abuse. But I also think passengers are on edge in general, too for some valid reasons. Thoughts?

Not to mention it was at LaGuardia. That's the backdoor to hell right there. LOL

    Jinkies.

I agree with you: I can sympathize with both parties.

Non-European airlines have gotten worse and worse in terms of service over the past few years. They're skimpy with food, tickets can be way overpriced, etc. And in this case, with the passengers waiting for hours to take off, I can see why tensions were high. Especially when there are crying babies on board, coughing people, and folks trying to meet deadlines.

On the other hand, passengers tend to blame airlines for things they can't control, like the weather. And considering they can't voice their frustrations to the pilot, the airline attendants seem to be the next best thing.

I am not surprised to hear this was American Airlines. I will never fly with those clowns if I can avoid it. The last time, my flight was delayed by hours and I missed my connection home and had to pay for a hotel room out of pocket.

I have sympathy for the passengers and the flight attendant, but not the higher-ups. Why would they depart the gate and then turn around and refuel?

I think I may be team flight attendant. People can be horrible and nasty when things don't go as plan, and if they feel like someone is beneath them, they will talk to them any kind of way.

I'm siding with the flight attendant. No, what he did was "not professional" and it was out of line...and I understand how he felt. Doesn't make it okay, but I have wanted to tell customers where to get off, plenty of times...and a few times it came too close to becoming a reality. So...yeah. Been there. Been there today, matter of fact.

You get tired of clownin', demanding, whining, cutups (the general public is made up of a lot of those), who love to show their behinds, when things go south - regardless of who/what is responsible. Those in "service" have to take the abuse, and most of time, they're not being adequately compensated for it.

Customers tend to believe they're "right", because somebody came up with the concept that "the customer is always right" which is retarded...nobody is "always" right. But, the general public runs with it...and some of them pick the right day, to mess with the wrong person, and they get their feelings hurt. It happens. Sometimes it's best to relax, take a deep breath and realize that some things are beyond your control, and you gain nothing by annoying those who are in a position to make a "bad day" a "horrible" one.

Oh...and "bingo" about some folks considering service workers to be "beneath" them.
