New transitioner :) from relaxed hair to natural

jengercjengerc Posts: 6Registered Users
Hello,
I've been transitioning for about 6 months and so far so good. Although my last visit to sally's I did picked up a box of relaxer but pulled through and put it down. I'm commited to my curls. So because of that (almost) incident I've decided to get support from fellow curlies. Guess my biggest struggle is finding a shampoo and conditioner that's works. I'm currently using treseme shampoo and conditioner formulated for curls but it feels like it's stripping my hair. Before that I used mane and tale and pantene for curls. Does anyone have any recommendations ? I am biracial black/white and have 3b 3c hair ?
I've included a pic of my new growth :)

Thanks

Yeah both have sulfates, that's what's stripping my hair ?

Yes, sulfates can be very drying.

Try looking for non-sulfate shampoos and conditioners

I am also transitioning. I find that using tresemme natural conditioner to wash my haor helps a lot. For sulfate free shampoo, I use elasta qp creme conditioning shampoo.
It is all trial and error. Check out my blog at

I was having the same problem. But I found the best product. Giovanni smooth as silk conditioner. And there leave in conditioner. I went from being unable to comb my hair to the knots melting away. Massagewarehouse carrys this organic line. And they have free shipping for the next five days. Vitacost also carrys it. If you give me your email address I can email you a 10 coupon off your first purchase. So you can actually get two bottles for $5. Shipping is also included. This stuff is wonderful.
