So I swear I dont go looking for things but I have this annoying habit to be in the right place at the right time" Its a blessing and a curse"

so months back I was on Curly Nikki forum reading about a Detangling Bromb, which a young lady was selling for $7.00. She had saw the brush on a YT video where a lady was using it where she brought the brush from Felicia Leatherwood for $10.00

I was intrigued by the lady and the YT video, I was going to buy one from the young lady because $7 is better than $10 right??

So as usual someone mentioned that its really a horse brush. I filed that away in my mind and kept going.

I went back and read the website and noticed someone found the brush cheaper. Well heck, Im not buying it from the young lady if I can find it for cheaper. So I mosey on and do something else, right...

months later, NEA purchases a brush from Felicia Leatherwood and ding ding ding ,detangling brush pops back in my head

So I go back to CN look for the detangling bromb to refresh myself and then google " Horse Detangling Brush "

Well lo and behold I find the website selling the Detangling Brushes for $1.55. I buy 4 to send to my other three PJ's cause I want them to try them out.

Then it clicked, NEA's brush and the brush the YT vlogger is using is the same brush that I just bought for $1.55

    Shipping is $4.95

I think NEAs brush was $10, plus $5 shipping , and when it arrived her brush actually only cost a dollar and some change to ship.

The young lady on CN is selling hers for $8 including shipping.

If I had of only bought one brush my total would have been $6.50

So umm research is the name of the game!

Also sold here but for $4.99

Bought two purple ones there for $4.99

    texture - medium/fine, porosity - low/normal, elasticity - normal
co-wash - NaturelleGrow Coconut Water or Marshmallow Root, Slippery Elm Bark & Blue Malva Cleansing Conditioners
    LI - KCKT mixed w/ SM C & H Curl & Style Milk
DC - NG Mango & Coconut H2O or Chamomile/Brdck Root
Gel - SM souffle (winter), KCCC (summer) or CR Naturals Aloe Whipped Butter Gel (year round)
Sealers - Virgin Coconut Oil, Avocado butter, Aloe butter
Ayurvedic treatments - Jamila Henna, Sukesh, Aloe Vera Powder, Hibiscus Powder

people make me sick. So she's selling horse detanging brushes for $10 plus another $5 for shipping and handling when the brush is worth no more than $2.
She even over chargers customers for shipping. The nerve! :angry6:

That is a dirty mf'ing move to overcharge people like that. You can't send your kid to college on 5 customers so do try.

These brushes are at my local Dollar General. LOL! I don't order brushes online. Goody is good enough for me..right in any drugstore.

No offense NEA but I'm surprised you would pay 10 bucks and 5 bucks for shipping for this brush. But maybe they don't have them at the Dollar stores where you live ?

    Uhmm...yeah.

Anyway, no, this brush is not available where I am. I had never seen the brush before I ordered it, Marah.

Secondly, I love the brush, and I'm glad others can try it, and not pay what I paid. I order 95% of my hair products online, and that includes tools/accessories.

Thirdly, BTW, I did look for this brush, before I ordered it. I didn't pull up any "Curly Nikki" info, when I did my initial research because I didn't know what I was looking for.

It may look like a brush sold at the dollar tree but the actually brush bristles spread apart. You can pull them wide apart, they do pop back into place.

Ive went in the Dollar Store around here, not a lot but I will be on the look out and see if I see anything similar.

I know they have knock off Denmans

This brush ain't in the dollar stores in my city. This is not like a "Goody" or a "Denman". I don't use Goody or Denman brushes.

Yeah I know you order your stuff mainly online.. I just think it's ridiculous that people are way overcharging for something that is about 2 bucks. SMDH.

I've seen these brushes at the Dollar General where I live.. now what you have may be better quality though because the one's I saw were made of very hard plastic..they didn't flex much. Although that might be a good thing for detangling highly textured hair.

So what's the benefit of having a brush that pulls apart and snaps back ? Is it so you can customize it yourself ? Like if you want less bristle rows ?

No, the rows aren't removable. This is not a "knockoff" of anything. The rows are bendable, and they "give" when you brush thru - Denman bristles are hard/stiff and they have no "give".

The advantage? When detangling hair (damp or wet), it works with your conditioner/detangling solution to get thru tangles easier, and it doesn't pull out the hair. I lose next to no hair, with this brush and the hair I do lose? It's shed hair. I hear no "snapping" sounds. Plus, it doesn't have those balls on the end that I hate.
