Skin care regimen for combo 20s skin?

Hi there curlies,

I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations for new skin care products to try.

I have combination skin and used to have regular acne in my teens. I am now in my early 20s and the regimen that worked well for me when I was a teenager isn't working right anymore. Acne isn't as much of a problem, but I still get occasional pimples and have more blackheads in my T-zone.

For a few years I have been washing with Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub, toning with Dr. Galen's Skin Tonic, and moisturizing with Neutrogena's oil-free combination skin moisturizer with good results, but recently I find it too drying.

I have tried switching to Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Cleanser and Yes to Tomatoes cleanser, but both of those feel too drying and leave my face feeling like its not really clean.

I feel like I'm too young and on a budget to start using anti-aging lines, but anti-acne lines are too drying and not really addressing my skin care issues which are mostly blackheads, dryness and sensitivity.

Thanks for any interest and replies!

Try using honey to wash your face, it's a humectant and has antibacterial and antifungal properties among other benefits, but you'd have to use a diluted acv toner afterwards to restore the ph balance. You would need raw unpasteurized unfiltered honey preferably from a bee keeper or health store, the ones in the supermarket are processed and don't have the same benefits. Its the only cleanser that doesn't irritate my sensitive combo acne prone skin. Hope this helps!

To address dryness and sensitivity, Ive started using my toner before cleansing. So instead of going the usual "cleanse, tone moisturize" route, I do "tone, cleanse, moisturize".

Yes to tomatoes was also too drying for me. I cleanse with Noxzema 80% of the time and 20% with the trader joes tea tree oil face wash.
