ACV rinse with or with our shampoo ?

I've been hearing a lot of good things about the Apple Cider Vinegar Rinses but is that supposed to replace me using shampoo or do I do it just as a treatment or ? How does that work ....

Vinegar removes build-up so it could act as a shampoo but does it remove silicones?

ACV rinses do not remove sillicones. If you use non water soluble silicones, you need a sulfate poo or a low poo containing Cocamidopropyl Betaine or Cocoabetaine for cone removal. If the silicones are water soluble (PEG or PPG in front of the name), then you can remove them via cowashing.

What ACV rinses do accomplish is closing the cuticle back down after one has applied something with basic pH (like a baking soda clarification or a shampoo bar) that opens up the cuticle. It also helps to remove product buildup and can help to remove mineral deposits from hard water. I do one weekly and it eliminates any scalp itch I have as well as leaving my hair shiny and feeling clean but not stripped.

So I should use it in between shampoo washes?

Sure, in between shampoos would probably work well. ACV can be drying though, so watch your hair. I know of a few who use it every time they cleanse, others, like me, who do weekly ones, and others whose hair /scalp hate ACV.

What type of herbs should I try ?

it depnds on the season for me. right now im using marshmallow root, sage and same sort of tea. though i love rosemary, peppermints, comfry, lavender and stinging nettle. it also depends if you have any problems with your hair or if there is anything that you want to improve

This is a great idea! Thanks so much for the tip. The babassu & marshmallow root poo bar from CV is my favorite (so far :) ), so MMR would definitely be in my brew .

I would imagine that the more aromatic herbs would also help mask the smell of the ACV. That's the only drawback of the rinse for me.

yea well the smell goes away as the hair dry's. when i do it, i dont rinse it after, i just leave it in and mesage my scalp. same curlies do wash or rinse it out though you have to see what ever works best for you.

I put herbal infusions into my rinses. Hibiscus is my favorite.
