What do you find is the difference between the 2? I have been using the Moisture Retention, and LOVE it, but the other tempts me also...TIA!

I love them both. The moisture retention is a little richer for me. I tend to use that more during the winter months when the air is dry. I prefer the coconut hibiscus in the summer months when my hair feels weighed down if my products are too rich.

I always thought my hair weighed down easily. Not anymore! no silicones or sulfates, and leaving in more conditioner has made a big diff. I would still love to try the Coconut Hibiscus Shea Moisture...I dont use a lot of product. Thanks for the reply!

My porosity is on the low side so many products will just sit on my hair without soaking in. It's also a fine texture so it doesn't take much to weigh it down and feel gunky. I was a little afraid of the SM line - especially the moisture retention because of the oils. I'm thrilled that I've not had an issue with it. Like I posted earlier, I really like both the moisture retention and the coconut hibiscus. The shampoos are great and I just need to use a light hand with the conditioners. Sometimes I mix the conditioner with Tresemme Naturals to lighten them up a bit. It's simply a personal preference to use the moisture retention in the winter and the coconut hibiscus in the summer.

I use Sally's Cure Care conditioner with the SM shampoo, and I love it. Have not tried the SM conditioners.

Everything she said, the coconut hibiscus is just as rich but lighter and rinses cleaner to me.. Both great though!

For me, the main difference between the two is the scent. The Moisture Retention has a stronger, sandalwood scent, while the coconut hibiscus has a lighter tropical scent. Both work well, lather well, and moisturise.

I think the Coconut one has an additional surfactant in it (Sodium Lactylate or something), whereas the Moisture Retention one has only the Decyl Glucoside.

I love them both, but prefer the Coconut one because it offers a bit deeper clean. But if I shampoo more than once a week, I prefer the Moisture Retention, as it is a bit gentler (though they are both gentle).

Funny, contrary to most responses I found the Moisture Retention to be more drying than the Coconut Hibicus for some reason. I purchased the MR first expecting it to be a moisturing poo but it felt drying on my hair. I was quite surprised given the name and a little disappointing. I used it when I needed more clarifying. I purchased the CH mons. later and love the more moisturizing results. I'm thinking maybe it was the batch (MR) I got......will try it again.
