Roller Jaw clips questions

MyrnaMyrna Posts: 2,362Registered Users Curl Connoisseur
Ok, so I did a search here, and I still dont know where to get them other than ordering them from CHS. Any alternatives? I have been to Walgreens and to CVS, and I cant find anything there that looks like them, partly because I dont know what size they are. Also: do they work? I just kind of got the technique of clipping the top horizontally as per the Deva method...are the roller clips better? how?

I've seen lots of them at Walgreens in many different sizes. Also, is there a Ricky's near you? They carry them.

I tried some. If your hair is very thick, they may work well for you. My hair is on the thinner side - they didn't work for me. I had various sizes, but they just wouldn't grab enough hair to hold up and kept falling over. When eventually they would grab a hunk of hair and stay put until it dried, it didn't look good when I took it out. I could see the claw marks.

There might be something on youtube that would demonstrate them for you and then you could get an idea of what size would work for you.

I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....

Yea, I have had the impression that they need to be able to grab on to a LOT of hair...and you cant try them on in the drug store, so to speak..I'll make a trip to Sally's. No Ricky's here, but there are a lot of Walgreens. I was just there and left confused and empty handed.

If you mean to add volume to your roots you can try small claw or octopus clips. I have fine hair & the clips in the ouidad videos don't always work for me. I have curled up hair along my finger than clipped it to my head with a pretty claw clip to dry. Looks ok & you are walking around with sliver clips in your hair. Good luck!

Ok so I went to several walgreens - could not find. Went to Sally Beauty - and there were too many choices. Not only that, but I didnt know what size, kind, etc to purchase. So, I think I am going to break down and order them from CHS.
