I just saw an article where his girlfriend says he was drugged unknowingly or it was voodoo that made him do it. Okkkkkk.

I still keep trying to figure out the drug related cause of this. I know they are saying bath salts, and there could be a newer batch that's far more extreme, but... People have been doing that for awhile without gnawing someones face off. Seriously. I also didn't buy the LSD angle, which they have now dropped.

I'm still hung up on PCP. I can't help it. I've heard so many past law enforcement horror stories of people tweaked on it. Officers unload rounds in people, without them flinching. It caused mental insanity in the highest degree. You never know though. When Molly Paper was introduced a few years ago the first several documented "flip outs" involved people (all over the U.S) believing demons were coming out of the ground, to drag them to hell. One man beat himself with a baseball bat in the street believing he was attacking the demons.

Whatever the reason, the end result is horrific.

I'm not sure it matters what drug he was on - it's a pretty messed up story. Why someone would take drugs that had the potential to tweak you out like this. I dont know.

I watched the video from the camera that it was filmed on, (its not up close and it was shortened since it was 18 FREAKING MINUTES LONG *eeeeeep* and it was chilling even tho it was like two little ants moving around, just to know what was happening was awful) the guy that saw it rode by on his bicycle, BICYCLE, LIKE 5 INCHES FROM THEM! (I would of crashed) Ughhhhhh I'm sure he'll never forget that, eeee it scares me thinking about it, ( I know I know the odds of it happening are like shark attacks) And the poor guy, it's great that he actually survived, but....I just want to know what actually happened, we probably won't know for a really really long time, unless he writes it in pencil.

It matters. At least it does to me. When I start hearing about situations like this I wonder if a new drug has been created. I wonder if this is the test batch. I wonder where it has been distributed and who is getting ready to take it next.

I wonder this because after Molly Paper, and other drugs, were introduced we had extreme cases of tweaking in my county. I'm the one picking up the phone to handle these calls, so... I'd really like to know. :)

I feel it's important for the public to know, period. It's a potential hazard.

I'm confused how the other person allowed him to chew off his face without a struggle. I can only figure he had passed out or something.

It's a disturbing story to say the least. I'm annoyed though that everyone keeps calling him a zombie. I like zombie movies but really people, they are in movies and not real.

I'll be interested to see what they find out about this case.

The report is that the attacker walked up to the victim & started beating him and trying to remove his clothes. Reports say the victim was likely asleep when first approached and tried to fight back by kicking, etc.

So was he unconscious then? I can't imagine some conscious could willingly tolerate someone biting at their face.

Reports say he was beaten by the attacker and fought back. It is said he continued to fight back when the attacker first began biting him. I don't know if/when he became unconscious.

It's hard to get my mind around trying to rationalize something like this. But the deets are so muddied by the "zombie" nonsense.

It seems as if they must've been both intoxicated with this "drug". I also can't get myself to look at the pictures. The story is disturbing enough.

Well, the term 'zombie' has become synonymous with flesh eating.

While zombies started out as people whole rose from the dead, the movie industry has turned it into people affected by virus, or chemical exposure that has made them 'inhuman' in that they are unresponsive, psychotic, and enraged to the point of cannibalism.

The only reason i'm commenting is because I got into this discussion with a friend who is a professor and works at NASA. I believe the latter form of 'zombies' is possible. Most logical people don't think humans will rise from the dead though.

    (emphasis on 'most' and 'logical')

Now what if something similar to whatever was in this drug somehow got into general population through a chemical spill, contamination to food, or water, etc. - would it be possible for a large amount of people to be affected by it? I think its not entirely impossible. Not exactly 28 days, but the movies do exaggerate things.

Original speculation was that both were intoxicated. By viewing the video (which I haven't) and listening to the eyewitness account, law enforcement has concluded that this victim was an unfortunate victim in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It's a mix of LSD, Ecstasy, and a few other things. The most potent parts of each. It came from Florida, around 2008/9, which makes me wonder if the same person is responsible.

Right! Pot was my limit back in the day. I've been open before about my old school friends setting a much higher drug bar. lol. Some did anything they could get their hands on, and some just experimented. I witnessed most of it. Most hallucinogenics in the 90's lasted 6 to 8 hours. This recent stuff, which is many substances in one, comes complete with 30+ hour long highs. That's enough to flip anyone out, and very reminiscent of substances in the 60's.

I don't even try to rationalize the attack itself. That's not something that can be understood, especially when mind altering substances apply. It can create or enhance chemical imbalances, give super human strength (or the idea of it) or, or, or. I just know something has been very disturbing about the newer drugs on the market. The 2nd round of Molly came with fur, teeth and swan dives out of windows. At least the 3rd round seems to be milder.

I agree with you both...I'm from Miami and crazy **** happens here on a daily basis, but this was pretty wild.

I'm not sure where people come up with the "zombie" stuff, though. It is mostly described as a type of cannibalism. As my husband said, the dude was so whacked out of his mind that he probably thought the other guy's face was a chocolate sundae or something.

I wonder if it could have been LSD. I've heard that it can raise your body temp to the point where you feel like you're on fire (think hot flashes multiplied). That could explain why he took his clothes off.

But yeah, drugs are bad. Somebody mentioned bath salts...the situation with bath salts is out of control in states like Maine.

We have had an issue with bath salts and synthetic marijuana in NC. I have taken so many pitiful calls from 12, 13 years olds who have tried them and had heart palpitations, sleeping disorders and seizures. It's incredibly hard to not tear up when a little voice keeps telling you, "I won't do this anymore. I promise". Ugh! They are lucky though. 3 children in the area have died.

I would not doubt that whatever this is has LSD in it, but straight LSD... I don't know. We actually received information (and a heads up) from detectives about Molly. We are in the distribution path, and they told us just in time. We started getting calls the next week. That stuff is a mess. People were debating the exact compounds of this drug for awhile. It's a "designer drug", and IF (the possibilities are unfortunately endless) the same creator is responsible, I wish LEO in Florida all the luck in finding him/her/them.

How right you are, curlyhoneyb. They have always been around, and will always be around. Kids are going to try things, and adults are going to try things. Stuff is getting much more extreme, or at least seems that way, and I feel for parents because they have a great deal to look out for. I do hope they pin point this. It's absolutely the main focus of the case, and I'm glad they are talking about it because people need to be warned. A few times I've had the old footage from Woodstock flash through my mind.

"Do not take the brown acid. I repeat, do not take the brown acid." lol. At least they made it known.

P.S- Molly goes by another name as well. DO something, with numbers. I think it's most often called Molly, and even the name puzzled people because it didn't quite fit the compound.
