Butternut squash recipe?

Does anybody have a good way to make butternut squash? I'm supposed to bring it to my sister's house on Thanksgiving. But I've never made it. I know it's supposed to be mashed.
Do you just mash it with butter? any milk or cream?

Thanks :D

Don't use millk just butter. It's really good with some brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg added in. I've also had it with maple syrup instead of brown sugar. Mmm, I love squash.

I know this is a little late, but this is one of my favorite veggies to prepare. You can peel it, and slice it into thin "coins", brush it with olive oil, and bake it at 350 until the edges are crispy for "chips." They aren't like potato chips but softer and flavorful.

If you want to go all out, shape magazine has a great recipe (shape.com) where you mix barley and chicken broth and sage and put it in 1/2 a butternut squash (minus pulp and seeds) and top with feta cheese crumbles. That's an all-time fav for me.
