Changes to NC.com's Logo and Navigation - We want your feedback!

We've rolled out two new changes to our website this week. The first is a new logo for NaturallyCurly.com which we feel is more fun and sophisticated and better reflects our mission and audience.

The second is a cleaner navigation bar to help you find the content you need more easily. These changes are the first steps in creating a better user experience on NaturallyCurly.com and all of our websites. We will be gradually rolling out more tweaks and changes over the next few months, and we welcome your input in helping us create a better community and experience for everyone.

I like the nav bar a lot. And I like the way "curly" is in cursive. Rather than pink, I wouldn't mind seeing the same color as "curly" up above... a darker purple.

Although I'm generally a fan of pink, it's not that easy on the eyes in text form. I love how the blue our user names are in up at the very top looks against the dark grey. The white text of 'Welcome' is great in that context too. That gets my vote. Going with the dark purple would be an upgrade though too.

As far as the changes so far...:thumright:

I like Sew and Sew's suggestions for color. :)

I miss the fun curly image, but am ok with the new look. I'm not sure which navigation bar you meant, as there are three while in curltalk. Normally that's too many, but they're pretty clear and easy to see what they help you navigate so it works.

I have, however, already been logged out twice this morning. That gets old quickly...

My frizz forecast is often off by 5-10 degrees. which matters for the dew point. Also, sometimes it'll say "happy waves" all day for Friday (or whatever) but if I change the view to 5 days, it'll say "frizzy waves" for the very same day it just told me was fine. And since the temp and dew aren't always reliable.... just a thought.

I think the changes are great. They look more "grown up". I also agree with the poster above that the pink can be a little hard on the eyes. Are there plans to change the layout or colors of curltalk?

When trying to sign in with some browsers (IE 8 in my case) the little menu in the corner which comes down is behind the menu bars, so when I attempt to hit the "sign in" button instead I go to hair types. I can tab over to get the button active to sign in, but it's pretty annoying since I get logged out constantly by the boards now.

Yes, I find the logging out part quite frustrating, also.

I do wish they would fix the "Likes received" issue (where you can't see which posts were "Liked" by members.

Or that they would add a link for posts that you participated in. They included it in the phone app, but it's not a function available on the website.

I also find it weird I get logged out all the time, but it does *look* pretty even if it's pretty useless at fixing actual issues.

I like the colors and the navigation. I do not care for the new logo. I liked seeing the "curly girl" with the curly hair.

this, and on top of being logged out constantly, on my computer when i try to log back in, the sign-in button is right over top of the hair type button. i hit hair types everytime, the only way for me to log in is to go to the register page. it's annoying.

This! I usually have multiple tabs open on my laptop, and I lose the little blue nc among the tabs. I could always find the girl with the curly hair.

What on earth happened to the page? I thought my work firewall had farted at it or something at lunch time, and just checked from home - still a disaster area.
