I've been put on a soft food diet and need some more ideas. Im gonna be on soft foods for about 2 1/2 months, its been less then a week and im already strapped for ideas. I never thought I'd say this but pudding, jello, and flavored instant oatmeal is getting really old.

Pastas maybe a little later, I already thought of alot of the obvious stuff. Just looking for more ideas. I had all my teeth extracted on monday. And Im going to be eating like this for a long time. I was told I would have to learn how to eat all over again, so all the ideas I can get would be much appreciated. Im hoping not to get stuck eating the same few foods every day.

What about potato soup - to mix things up a bit?
You can buy mixes from the grocery store, so it's not too much work.
I found this site, too... I don't know that all of the stuff listed there will work very well, but some of the suggestions look good.

or, same site, but categorized by meal:

Good luck, I know foods can get old pretty fast.

    -Soy ice cream
    -Mashed potatoes
    -Mashed sweet potatoes

I don't know if you have any etnic stores near by but there are some root veggies or potatoe looking things that if you boil them get pretty soft and they all have different flavors and taste good.

BTW, cream of chicken soup over stuffing is yummy.

I was on soft foods for about 6 weeks. I used to puree everything. I'd cook a chicken breast with all it's seasoning then throw it in the blender. It looked like hell, but tasted oh so yummy. I also did that with pork chops but with them, I had to cut in small pieces because they took longer to break down in the blender.

I'll have to do the puree' thing. Im gonna get my mom to make me a big batch of vegie soup too YUMMY. What really sucks is this weekend my SIL is in town and she wanted to meet up at McD's for lunch so the kids could play on the playground and there was nothing to eat but ice cream and it's like freezing outside. Man I wish more fast food places sold soup.
