Train Your Hair

Hey Curlies !
I need help .. I just thought about this:

Can you train your hair to a certain curl without heat?
Heres the breakdown of what I mean:
You know how your hair can be trained to be straight if you keep straightening it? Yes?
Well, say if you do Bantu Knots or use FlexiRods alot,
do you think your hair can be trained that way ?

I don't think it will train it to that curl but it will lay in that style easier and easier over time.

It us easy for me to part my hair when I detangle because I do it the same over and over.

It can be bad though because where I part I can get wisps at the parts If i'm not careful

No. First of all, hair can't be "trained" to be straight. That's called heat damage, and that's irreversible. Thermal heat and flexi-rods/bantu knots are two completely different things, and neither of them can make the hair "remember" the curl pattern (or lack thereof in the case of straightening.) Besides, your hair doesn't have any kind of memory. If it did, we'd go up to day 365 with twist outs :laughing5:

No as far as curl memory from sets. If your curls are not reverting when washed they are damaged. I have seen the heat training on YT and to me it looks a Hot Mess but to each his own.
I do think you can "train" your hair as far as better moisture retention. I found I dont have nearly as many dryness issues once I found a routine that works for me. Mahogany Curls said she built up her moisture with frequent cowashing.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:
