I'm philosophically opposed to beauty contests. It's not good for anyone to be judged only by their looks.

Looks like pics from the "prettiest teen" page on FB. My friends daughter has posted pics on it. It's sincerely nothing but trolls bashing young girls to a pulp based on appearance and boys rate them on a scale of "doable". Yeesh.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

OMG how awful!! I'm so glad I don't have kids right now (and that I am not one), having to try to keep them from all this crap/help them understand that it is crap.

Me too! I was appalled when I read comments under her pic, and pics of other girls. I sent her a very lengthy email because I know she took things that were said to heart.

Why are young women so obsessed with "who is the prettiest", type of thing? Not participating. I don't think your friends appreciate you posting pictures of them on the internet either.

That's just sad. Who cares? They are all equally pretty. And next time, think of how hurt you would be if someone thought you weren't the prettiest.
  • SusieSuzeSusieSuze Posts: 524Registered Users
You can say which picture is the prettiest, but you can never say which girl is.

A beautiful looking person can open their mouth and all of a sudden they can become extremely ugly.

And the plain girl can smile radiantly and say beautiful things and be more beautiful than any pageant contestant.

    :sad1:

It's sad because of your 2 threads where you seem overly concerned with your looks and what other people think.

It's sad because you are trying to gather opinions and votes from total strangers on the internet.

It's sad because you are involved in an online "Prettiest Girl" contest.

It's sad because I have a teenage daughter and I see this very thing happening with many of her friends. I worry about what our society is doing to our young women.

Don't put me down for a vote. I didn't participate.
