Rinses vs. Leave-ins

So, I've been lurking forever, but this is my first post. I've been reading a lot about herbal rinses and detanglers, but I was wondering...does anyone use these rinses as a leave-in? Would it be more beneficial to do so? Would that be too much for the hair?

The ones that I'm thinking about are hibiscus, marshmallow, burdock, and maybe chamomile and nettle...

Curious cat is curious...

I make a leave in scalp and hair spray of sorts.
    Horsetail
    Hisbiscus
    Nettle
    Marshmallow
    Rosemary
    Burdock
    Hydranga
    A little tea tree oil
I add a little glycerin, honey and sweet Orange essential oil at the end.

I put it in a spray bottle and use it when I don't feel like gettin my hair wet in the shower. It needs a little more slip so I'm tweeking it. But its a good way to infuse herbs into ur hair n scalp

i use it as a final rinse. My hair seems to love it, but i always still put a leave in after i do the rinse, i wait a bit till my hair is a bit dryer then i put my leave in. my fav herbs are: rosemary, nettle, marshmallow, hibiscus, rose, peppermints, comfry and sage, i use as many of these as i have on hand. if i dont have much then ill use tea as well. OOh and i always add a bit of ACV to it as well. which if your using comfry you have to.

my hair: 3b, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
Oils and my own procuts are my hairs best friend
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.

Recently I saw a chick on YouTube using okra juice as a leave-in. She was pretty excited about it. Anyone ever heard of this one?

Hey where/how do you get those herbs like Marshmallow, Nettle, Comfrey, etc.? Do you order them online and do they come come packaged as herbs or something?
I suppose I can look it up, and will also but I'm just curious as to how everyone seems to get these lol.
    Thanks in advance!

Never heard of that.. wonder is it a good leave in because it's moisturizing and gives some hold because of the gooey mucilage in it..sort of like boiled flax seeds.

thats a really nice mixture you've ordered! if you want to really get the good stuff out of the marshmallow soak them in hot water as long as you can. so over night, pour boiling water over it, and let it sit with a lid on. you can leave it like that and strain it. but to really get the "slip" out of it, i boil it for a few minutes, then i take it off the heat. then i let it to stop bubbling and boil it again. i do this for 15 minutes or so. add more water if it disappears. when its "done" the water should be nice and thick and sticky. its this stickyness that gives you the slip.
    hope that has helped. :happy4:
