This is the hair around my hairline. I washed my hair last night, and decided to take pics of my new growth. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of my roots everything was still pretty damp.

It looks like you have quite a bit of growth. How far along are you into your transition?

Next month I'll be 3 months post. I'm trying to combat my roots matting up. I started cutting off some relaxed ends towards the front of my hair and at the sides

Wonderful :) I am also at my three months of transitioning. I am in my fifth week of kinky twists and I couldn't help but to take one out to see the new growth. Shhh don't tell my hairdresser ;)

It's okay! Lol I'm just patiently waiting for more growth I have little curls growing in from pieces I snipped off. I'm going to try to cut a decent piece off towards the front to get a better look at my hairs texture and curl pattern

I am currently transitioning and have been since November. Here is my new growth

s/n - Right now I have my hair parted into 4 sections in cornroll plats to let it air dry. It's pretty much dry in this section.

You guys have such nice growth. My last relaxer was in December and I feel like my hair is not really growing much. I don't know if I feel that way because my curls are so tight and instead of lengthening they just shrink. At this rate I'll probably transition for 3 years, because I don't want to have hair shorter than neck length :(

Funny thing, when I used to get relaxers, I had to do it every 2 months because you could see my roots coming out really bad and my hair grew like weed, so what the heck is going on now!

Towards the middle of my hair it shrinks up and mattes. The curls loosen as the week goes on. For a fresh wash forget it my hair looks shorter than it really is

@dsjbride. I know what mean. I didn't feel like I had any growth until I reached my 8 month mark and then I realized that it had grown so much. HTH

    Happy Transitioning everyone!

I'm going into my 14th month and I feel like I went to bed and woke up and my hair just decided it wanted to be big. It seriously looks different and is different to deal with. It got it's own shape too short and tight at the front then crown area is long and loose the the nape area is a mixture of s-curls and coils which shrink tremendously it's also quite fine. I have no problem with it just my relaxed hair looks too silly unless I blow dry my hair but I'm trying do 2 months heat free since I spent March
    with straight hair.

I couldn't deal with the two textures, so March 27th I Big Chopped. I'm happy with my decision. Now I am just wanting some length so I can box braid it and get twist outs. It's way thick, so doing either now is going to take some time, I would have to braid or twist my hair really small.
    Congrats to you all!:thumright:

Great progress everyone! I don't know what my hair type is either. I agree with those who are already natural, about knowing your hair type, until all the relaxed ends are gone. My natural hair is weighing down my relaxed ends. I find that I have to co wash more often now. I co wash with oyin's honey hemp or any Giovanni conditioner
