Moisturizers and Cleansers - opinion

Right now I am experimenting with the OCM. I haven't noticed a huge difference yet but it does make my skin feel nicer than Purpose does. Quick question, is castor oil just the castor oil from the laxatives section?

Also, what are some opinions on:
Ponds Cold Cream
Ponds Dry Skin Cream
Jojoba Oil as a moisturizer
3A/B - low-normal porosity - med to coarse texture

Shampoo - GTTTT
Co-Wash - As I Am Coconut Cowash
RO - GVP Cond. Balm, Tresemme Naturals, Yes to Carrots Nourishing, AO Honeysuckle Rose
LI - Hollywood Beauty Olive Cream Headdress
DT - Hollywood Beauty Olive Cholestrol, SM Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment
Stylers - BRHG (old formula is my HG, but the new one has silicones)

Trying out - MGA Sculpting Gel, LA Sports Gel, Got2b Spiked Gel, Got2b Glued

Yep, that's the same castor oil.

    I wouldn't use cold cream.

And I like jojoba oil for moisturizing.

The same week I used jojoba oil on my face, I also broke out in about 4-6 pimples. I don't often get pimples and 4-6 is super rare. I can't say for certain if there is a correlation as I've be too afraid to test it out.

I REALLY like Nivea Soft as my nightly cream. It has mineral oil in it and I was hesitant at first. But it seems to be fine. My face looks and feels smoother after using it.

(Skin type: Sensitive, combination skin. Oily t-zone, especially forehead. Normal everywhere else, except in winter, when my cheeks get really dry. )
Hair type: Mostly 3C, medium porosity to high porosity depending on the day, dense, fluffy, dry, tangly!

The OCM has not been the best for my skin. Yes it makes my skin glow and feel soft but I develop a bunch of little pimples and white heads. I've kept trying it to see if it changed, but it hasn't. It also takes a really long time.

So I am in search of a gentle cleanser.

    All of this.

Since PSF has discontinued their Gentle Castile Cleanser, I am now using CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. I really like it. It cleans well and is very gentle. For a moisturizer, I have been using Trader Joe's Nourish Oil-Free Antioxidant Facial Moisturizer. I can even use this in the morning and I don't end up with shine in my t-zone by midday.

I don't wash my face with a cleanser unless I have to (wearing foundation or my face just feels dirty/extra oily). So, I probably wash my face with cleanser 1-4 times a week, depending.

I use the St. Ive's Olive Cleanser, which suds up like a normal cleanser and it can be a little drying, if your skin is very sensitive to being dry after washing. It contains two types of sulfates (SLS and STS) and cocamidopropyl betaine. I use this stuff sparingly, as a super duper face wash for when my face is really caked on with make up and really greasy feeling.

Another cleanser I use is DermaE Pycnogenol Facial Cleanser. I got it as a birthday present and I think it was bought on clearance. I don't know if it's been discontinued but I hope not. It's a very GENTLE cleanser. It does not suds up, it feels a lot like washing my face with conditioner. It's not only sulfate free but free of any sudsing agents. I highly recommend this product.

I like CeraVe's cleansers. They're very gentle and don't leave the skin feeling tight.

Did you try increasing the ratio of castor oil to whatever you use for your second oil? When I did OCM, I had good results if I used a pretty good amount of castor oil--at the upper end of the "recipe" or even higher.

I'm not trying to get you to stick with it if it doesn't work for you. I was just thinking if you otherwise had good results, increasing the CO might help.
