will cassia lighten my hair?

I really want to naturally lighten my hair with something that won't dry it out or damage it (because my hair is already really dry and annoying at the ends). I was looking into cassia and it said it would only work for blonde hair. My hair is right on the edge of being blonde. Brunettes usually say I'm blonde and blondes usually say I'm a brunette. I don't really want to spend the money on it if it won't work because it isn't very cheap, but it looks like something I'd really like to try. Any advice?

Cassia is not supposed to lighten at all, though I don't have any personal experience with it.

I have read recently that lightening with HONEY is actually really a nice low/no damage way to get lighter hair. I think it takes several applications though.. but from what I see it's worth it.

Google it, I know there is a lot out there on the subject :)
