How many times did you perm your hair in a year?

Before i decided to go natural i would perm my hair twice a year one around march/april and another in september.How about you guys?

When I first began relaxing my hair, I would get them 6 times a year (which is bad). From 14-20 I was going to Dominican Salons. They always use to recommend a relaxer once they saw new growth. Every 4-5 weeks they would say "Mami next time you come, relaxer. Your hair need it. I can't do rolos on this kind of hair if it no have relaxer" Sad but true!When I heard about streching my relaxers I've got them done 3-4 times a year. I saw relaxing frequently pointless because the flat iron always got the job done.

Wow i would go to dominican salons too they would also tell me the same thing but i didnt listen to them ive always done it once or twice a year.

At the time when I was in HS my mom paid to get my hair done every week. She didn't want to hear any flack from the stylist. If the stylist said next week you need a perm she was always right. When I was in College I didn't have time to go to a salon every week. I began doing my hair myself when I was a Junior in College. I never heard the you need a relaxer story again. The salons only complained about why do you wait so long to relax story

I relaxed once every 8-10 weeks. A lot of my friends relaxed more often than that--probably every 4-6 weeks. That always seemed like overkill to me.

When I first started getting my hair relaxed I got a touch up every 2 or 3 months. That lasted until high school, then I started getting them every 7 weeks until I started transitioning.
