short and transitioning

I just started transitioning from my relaxer to natural hair. I will attach pics of what i looked like as a child n my last touch up pic. I have zero idea what to do with my hair because it is so short in the back n sides. I was thinking about getting weaves and two-strand twists. I dont have the guts to do a big chop. Any hints and tricks, products or any help what so ever is very much appreciated.

The first to pics are me as a 3yr old with my natural 3c (i think lol) hair.

The last pic is my hair relaxed. If you need a full view just google rihanna who's that chick video lol

If your hair is already short, then why are you afraid of BC-ing?

My hair in the front, as you can c in the pic, is the longest hair I have. Im afraid that my face cant take super short hair so I keep the hair around my face long.
