PT treatment and Neutral Protein Filler

So Im VERY much still a newb to the whole cg experience (as you can tell from my sig) but I finally got around to doing a pt treatment last night. I was lukewarm about the end result last night, but it wasnt til I got up this morning and my hair still had curl that I got super excited!

I even went to Sally's and got some of the Neutral Protein Filler. Should I just add it to my rinse out conditioner or just my leave in? Do you add to low poo? I wont lie Im trying to not get carried away for fear of a protein overload, but I cant help it, Im excited! :)

My hair LOVES protein - it almost can't get enough!

I use CNPF, and add it to my RO, and to my homemade refresher spray. It's in my FSG, too!

There is some trial and error to figuring out how much is enough or too much. The good news is too much and you just do a poo (or low poo), a good DT, and you're set!

As far as low-poo, I only add it to condish!
2c/3a/3b, Fine/med, Dense, high porous, & normal elas.

Lo-poo - Renpure Keratin, SMR, Giovanni SaS
clarifying - mix Johnson's H2T with low poo
Co-wash - Suave Nats. clar. or coco.
RO - GVPCB, Ion Eff. Care, TN.
LI - SMR, Cure Care, or RO
    Seal - MO or Jojoba
DT - + honey, ACV, & EVOO to SM masque & GVPCB
    PT - Gelatin!, CNPF
Styling - FSG, AIF, BRHG, LALS/PS, GF curl spray gel, SM Souffle/Smoothie, LOOB
Oils - MO!, EVOO, jojoba, GSO, SM Elixer, EVCO, VO5 Hairdressing

I add NPF to a cheap conditioner and just do a protein treatment once a week. I make sure to follow with a deep condition afterwards though to offset any dryness. My leave in is a protein conditioner and my curl cream has it as well so I get a daily fix of protein too
hair properties: low porosity, coarse, dense and predominantly 3b I guess

    current products:
    conditioner - suave professionals
    leave in - suave naturals
stylers - shea moisture smoothie and xtreme gel

Love the idea of adding NPF to my rinse out. How much NPF do you use at a time?

Read an old thread the other night by IAGirl that suggested maybe for every tablespoon of conditioner 2-4 drops of cnpf mixed in real good

How do you guys know that your products have protein in them? Aside from the obvious basic PT - for example a leave in or a styling product that has protein in it; what would some of the ingredients be?

Protein in products can appear as itself, like silk protein. Collagen and Keratin are also proteins, but they don't have "protein" in their name. You'll also see protein in hydrolyzed form, where it's been broken down into smaller pieces, like hydrolyzed keratin or hydrolyzed silk protein. Also, it can appear as an amino acid, which are the building blocks of protein, like silk amino acids or wheat amino acids.

You can find a list of many ingredients here as well: Ingredients Commonly Found in Hair Care Products
