How to protect hair from pool?

CurlAngelCurlAngel Posts: 30Registered Users
I have spring break next week and I'm going to st. Croix :) I plan to do a lot of swimming both in the pool and ocean, but I'm worried the salt and chlorine will damage my hair. What can I do before I swim to reduce the damage?

We went to the Bahamas about a month ago. Every time I would go into the sun or swimming (pool or ocean), I'd take some condish with me in a small container and slather it on throughout the day. Even doing this, the sun did dry my hair somewhat.

This might have some useful info: science-y hair blog: Your Hair on Chlorine
Protein is good for chlorine damage and salt-water drying after the fun is over. P.S. Clearly you did not mean St. Croix, Minnesota, which is what I thought immediately...
