For those of you who shampoo your hair...

I shampoo my hair every day and I am looking for a new shampoo. It might be obvious that I am not on CG but I do like to use products that are CG friendly, ones that will be kind to my hair! For those of you who also shampoo your hair could you please suggest some shampoo’s to me that you have found success with? I would also appreciate if you could tell me your hair type….and any other info you want to send along would be appreciated! Thank you in advance. My hair is 3B, a little past my shoulders.

Sometimes I poo with Cream of Nature or baby shampoo (with No sulfates). I find these aren't really harsh at all. My hair is 3something and its to my armpit strectched, shoulder length unstretched.

I switch back and forth between [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Gentle-Lather-Shampoo-p-363.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-gentle-lather-shampoo]Jessicurl Gentle Lather Shampoo[/buylink] and [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Hair-Cleansing-Cream-p-103.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-hair-cleansing-cream]Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream[/buylink]. I use the HCC everyday and the the GLS once a week to week and a half. More than that is too drying for me. I am a 3b with some 3a in the back and I color treat. I have previously used John Frieda Radiant Red Shampoo and Condish and like those too but they are getting harder to find lately. They come in two shades (one for lighter red and one for darker) and I can't seem to locate the lighter reds anymore, just dark.
Hair Type: mix of 3's, growing out an angled bob, color-treated red.
Current products: GVP conditioning balm for co-wash and leave in, Curl Junkie Curls in a Bottle, Pattern Pusha and Garnier Anti-humidity hairspray

Activate Hydrating Shampoo is ok, but I find that it started to build up. I'm using Herbal Essences Totally Twisted and it makes my hair much lighter and bouncier.
    I'm a 3b, with 3c underneath.

Used to be CG, now I'm not. Using Suave Aloe & Waterlily shampoo & condish, JoiWhip, BRHG, Suave Aloe gel, Aussie Tizz No Frizz, and anything else that looks good!

I use Jessicurl GLS and HCC shampoos. Both are good, but lately I've been using J&J baby shampoo, and I believe I like it even more than the Jessicurl ones. I tend to over-condition with the Jessicurl products. I think that's because there's oil in them. There's none in the baby shampoo, so I can condition after I shampoo w/out weighing down my curls. My hair is not dry, which is probably a factor. I will continue to alternate the GLS and HCC with the baby shampoo until they're gone. After that I doubt I'll be buying them again.
Couple of inches past shoulder length 3A. Shampoo every 3rd or 4th day w/ baby shampoo; Tigi Fashionista conditioner; back to Condition 3-in-1 mousse . Alternate days water rinse, conditioner and mousse.

I use [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Elucence-Moisture-Balancing-Conditioner-p-39.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=elucence-elucence-moisture-balancing-conditioner]Elucence Moisture Balancing[/buylink] shampoo. I use mostly CG products, but I do have some things with amodimethicone. EMBS takes care of any build-up and is really gentle.

I have 3a/2 combo hair and my favorites are [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Hair-Cleansing-Cream-p-103.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-hair-cleansing-cream]Jessicurl HCC[/buylink] and any of the MHC Scalp cleansers. The HCC doesn't seem to overcondition my fine but thick hair, and the completely all-natural MHC products did not dry my hair out at all...I probably cleanse every other or every third day... :)

I love the ABBA Creme Moist shampoo. It cleans as well as a sulfate shampoo for me (I use it daily), but it's sulfate free. It's the only sulfate free shampoo I've ever been able to use. My hair is not dry and all the really gentle shampoos ([buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Hair-Cleansing-Cream-p-103.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-hair-cleansing-cream]Jessicurl HCC[/buylink], TJ's Nourish, Creme of Nature, Activate, etc.) are just way too conditioning for me. It does have proteins though, so if you're sensitive to those, it might not be for you. If I have to give my second choice, it would probably be the Elucence.
Hair type: Completely confused: mostly 3a, some 3b parts, and even 2 in places; very fine and thin.
Products: Elucence clarifying & MBC; CK, F/X Curl Booster Fixative Gel (when I can find it)

health food stores are usually good sources for hair products if you are looking for something gentler than the norm.

I have Desert Essence Italian Grape shampoo, currently, and am liking it.

As for baby shampoo, I have heard that the pH is harsh (too high? to low? can't remember which). I think I read this on the BB somewhere months back.

Thanks for all the replies. I am not sure exactly what I am looking for as weird as that sounds. I know I do not want anything with cones in it, or anything that will strip my hair. As for the rest I am not sure. I do not know if it matters if it has sulfates or not? I do not want it too gentle though I have tried the Loo Poo and that does not seem to work too well. I tried the Herbal Essence Color Me happy and the Hydrating, neither of these have worked either. So I guess I am just looking for a basic every day shampoo, to clean my hair but no strip it or lave it slimy!

You and I have similar concerns and experiences, it seems. I'm not CG, but I've been, for a few years, experimenting with CG products, and I'm just not seeing the same types of results I used to. My hair seems over moisturized, no matter how much I use. The first time I use something, I should add, it looks beautiful, but the products end up being just too much for my hair. It's funny, but watching Lorraine Massey on TODAY, I felt like my hair was the opposite of everything she said. I have naturally curly hair, and my hair is not naturally dry. I dye it, but, especially since I started using the no-ammonia dye, I just don't need a lot of moisture, and it seems that every CG-friendly product I use is full of it. And I can't do the no poo thing. My hair doesn't like just conditioner. Yesterday, I purchased 365 shampoo from Whole Foods, and, yes, the demon ingredient, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, is the second ingredient in it, after water, but it seems to me like when I didn't pay attention to what was and wasn't in my shampoo, my hair was happier. I may hate the shampoo, or it may be just what my hair needs. I'll know tomorrow. It's so funny how we all share similar hair, but it all responds so differently.

I tried the CG and like you, my hair hated it b/c of all the condtioner. It was too weighed down. For some it is fantastic. I have two friends on it and their hair looks fab. My hair does recently seem dry so I do think I need some moisture but I cannot use too much.

So I seem to be at a loss. silicones now seem so greasy and weigh me down, too much moisture weighs me down and makes me frizz, so that is why I hope someone is out there like me!

I use abba moisture scentsation poo, it's sulfate free. I like it because i love my CON but after a few times use it can buildup on your hair, with abba i don't have that problem and i still get soft easy to detangle hair.

I like mop c system clean shampoo. You can get it at most bath and body works and ultas. It cleans my hair well but doesn't leave it feeling stripped like a sulfate poo. On the downside, its $14.

I use cream of nature daily, but in the past I have used and like Abba Creme Moist and a nature's gate shampoo.

Can you tell me more about what you found? Here's what I found on Paula Begoun's site: "Johnson & Johnson’s first baby shampoo, the very one that ushered in the “no more tears” concept through J&J’s patented use of extremely gentle detergent cleansing agents known as amphoteric surfactants. Amphoteric surfactants do not cleanse or foam as well as other surfactants, but their unique property is their very low irritation potential. Amphoterics (the one most commonly used is cocamidopropyl betaine) are so gentle that they can even reduce the irritation potential of other surfactants known for their sensitizing traits, such as sodium lauryl sulfate."

It seems to be working OK for me:)

My hair can't tolerate conventional shampoo nor can it tolerate all the conditioner of the CG routine. I use the GLS every 2-3 days
