3b product recommendations available in the UK

Hi there,
I'm new to wearing my hair natural, and would love to know of some recommended products that are available in the UK that work on 3b hair!
I currently just use a bit of serum and some Umberto Gianni curl spray after shampooing/conditioning with a jojoba and wheat protein product from ASDA (I think it's Walmart in the US!), but don't find them terribly effective, so would love some genuinely good products to try!

Here's a link to a thread on nc.com for hair products available in the UK: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/swap-board-eurocurlies/99111-cg-products-uk-updatable-list.html (The acronym, "CG", means "Curly Girl" and refers to Lorraine Massey's method of curly hair care from her book The Curly Girl Handbook.)

NC.com is a great resource that you'll benefit from a lot, but just FYI, there's also a British Curlies forum where you might find info on products and stylists in your area of the UK. Thankyou so much for your helpful advice! I really appreciate it!
Is the TreSemme Naturals range any good as i've seen that in a lot of stores?
And i'm really impressed that most of the Boots own brand range are CG!

Think i'm also going to try some of the home remedies mentioned on this site, are there any particular ones that you would recommend/use yourself?

    Oh, you're welcome. :)

I've never used any TreSemme or Boots products so I can't give you any feedback on them, but I know that lots of other curlies have used them and like them. (Hate to sound like a broken record, but as soon as you determine your hair properties, that will help you make choices on products. :) Have you checked out Live Curly Live Free - Home yet?) For convenience sake, I often check the Product Reviews under the "Products" link in the menu bar at the top of the page to read reviews of products I'm thinking of trying and to check the icons listed with each one to see if there are sulfates or silicones in them (I make a point to not use products with them). To be honest, I still read ingredients lists myself to keep educating myself on what's working and what's not.

As far as home recipes that I use, about every 2 weeks I mix baking soda (BaSo) in with some conditioner and thoroughly wash my scalp with that and then follow up with Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) diluted with water to rinse. That all is my regular clarifying wash. Although I often use Curl Junkie (CJ) deep conditioners, I also often make a DC by mixing 1 tablespoon each of Honey, Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), and DevaCurl OneCondition (DC OneC). I also make my own Flax Seed Gel (FSG) and use that as a styling gel. I like that it has a light hold, and although it's tricky to get the hang of making it, it's dirt cheap!

By the way, Lorraine Massey is from Leicester, England (Although as far as I know, she's now based here in New York). She's of course well-known in the naturally curly world. If you're thinking of doing the CG method of curly haircare, you might be interested in reading her book, The Curly Girl Handbook MyDevaCurl - Home.

After reading through the link, i've determined that it is 3b/medium density/High porosity. I'm guessing the porosity may stem from years of dyes and straightening!
I've just bought the Tresemme Naturals shampoo and conditioner, and the Naked curl serum and leave in conditioner. Gonna try doing a Deep treatment with avacado, egg, honey and lavender oil as they are all things i have in the house!
Wow, she's from Leicester- maybe there is a good salon for cutting here then! I'm def gonna get the book.

Great! I'm glad it's all starting to come together for you! Just have fun with the inevitable trial and error of it all. I remember early on when I saw someone's signature block that said "My hair is my hobby" <-- That helped me decide to just settle in and have fun finally learning what to do with the curly hair I was born with.

    Good luck!
