Anyone NOT regret doing bkt?

I like the elongated curls but the parts that went limp and completely straight had to be cut off. I'm noticing my hair is the curliest/tightest curls in the center of my head. Perhaps I might consider just BKTing the roots of the middle of my head. Maaaaaybe lol.

Sooo, anyone really happy with their decision? Did you do it for straight hair or just elongated curls? Before/After pics?

Thanks all!

Heres my before and after

I've been thinking about doing this. I would like a nice change. My hair is 3a and 3b and I'm looking to go for some beach waves. I'm seriously considering

Thank Hun :). I'm nervous to do the BKT. I really want to. I've never done any chemical treatments to my hair. It's super healthy right now. My sis works for an aveda salon and she got hers done for free. It looks so beatific. Her curls are now loose waves and so shiny. I live my hair but I would like a change. I read that that when you end up with strands that are straight that it's from the heat damage prior to or during the process. She got it done about a month ago and now her curls are starting to come back

Honeycurls, I'm intrested on hearing your take on the BKT. If you don't mind.

Do a search on ~ghost poster~ and her BKT journey. This thread can get you started or just may summarize it well enough for you. I've followed her recommendations for nearly the entire time she's been BKTing, and our experiences have pretty much paralleled each other's. She seems to be my hair twin.

I'm in that thread too tee hee. Nikki I did the BKT for 1 year straight and that's how most of my ends got straight. I did the whole head each time not just the roots. If I do it again I will surely redo just the roots and go with a brand that doesn't require a high heat flat ironing.

Ok, thanks to both of you. I'm excited to do it. I was thinking about the growth. My roots come in flat from the weight of my hair and then starts to curly up as gets long but not by much. I would say my canopy is more of a 2b wave naturally. So I think I'm gonna go for it. After all it is a semi perment process

Good luck! My hair is very beach-wavy, but I'm currently having a problem finding products that work with my hair to enhance and lock in the curl. I just bought a huge bottle of Structura lotion to use with my BRHG, and it SUCKS. My hair is all sticky, producty, messy, with almost no curl just frizz. My usual cocktail doesn't seem to be working.

Nikki, which brand are you going to use?

Did you ever contact that mobile stylist for a cut? I'm going to give her a try in a few weeks. I think that's part of the problem with my curls...just too long...need some layering. Just afraid to do it.

I'm not sure what brand yet. I was gonna ask what brand you use lol. But push come to shove ill use the aveda brand because my sister works for them and just do it at home. And no, I haven't done the noble cut yet. Only because I just got my hair cut and I cut it way to short so I won't be cutting for a good while but when I get the chance I will. I figured that I'll bkt and only retouch up the new growth. I would love some beach waves. My dream hair. I've just always pride myself by not using and straighter but I need a change.
