Oops Color Removal

I have been dying my light brown hair a auburnish brown permanent color for the past year or so. My last time was back in December.
I have decided to try a medium brown demi-permanent color so I don't have to worry about my roots showing so much.

I tried the Oops color removal this morning. Followed the directions to the letter. And it doesn't seem to have taken much of the reddish color out at all.

My question now is.....Should I go ahead and put in my new color and hopefully it will cover the red that is still there.

Red is a difficult color to remove. When I used it to get rid of my henna I did 3 or even 4 treatments, left it on for double time and added heat. I'd give that a shot before you add another color, oh and a deep conditioner in between to help with possible damage that may be caused.
